The most improved player goes to..........

The Mad Lad who has already tallied up a landslide so I will call him as the first winner. Predictions for his career? What a summer for this dude, had me all mad during the USO final ;)

Upset of the year: Stefanos def Federer at AO

Moment of the year: Djokovic’s passing shot against Fed down match point at the Wimby finals.

HM to Nadal’s last 3 points of the 5-4 game in the USO finals and Federer becoming the second player to win multiple “La Decima’s”

Upsets of the year: Stefanos-Federer (Australian Open), Medvedev-Djokovic (Cincinnati Masters), Dimitrov-Federer (US Open), Kyrgios-Nadal (Acapulco), Rublev-Federer (Cincinnati Masters)

Just some of the bigger ones that come to mind.

I think if his back&neck didn't tweak at the wrong moment, he could have made the final, at least.
He was in better USO form than his 2017 & 2018 versions.

Honestly it's a bummer we haven't gotten Fedal at the USO. Slams are much more entertaining when Fed is in the draw deep. He made me nervous at the FO, and if you told me 10 years ago that Fedal would still be having matches that made me nervous in 2019 I wouldn't have believed it :p

Why in a universe were you nervous?
Even without a storm, rafa would have won, just in 4/5 sets....

Fed was playing WELL heading into that semi, and it's underrated how good his groundstrokes were against Rafa. It didn't seem as easy as the score to me

Yes, he was playing well & the first 2 sets were extremely tight.
However, the outcome would have been the same even on a non-stormy day with a different scoreboard.
I'd say 6-4 3-6 7-5 6-4 Nasal

Well yes, Nadal is that good on Chatrier lol, but I have too much respect for Fed/Djokovic to just assume Nadal will win anymore.

Although I agree with this, I'm too tempted not to post the following:

No respect can argue against the undeniable truth though.
A decent version of rafa standing at the opppsite side of the court at RolandGarros, means no victory for any player on the planet. Let it be Djoker or Feder, they'll only get heartbroken..

Tsitsipas-Fed wasn't that big an upset. Federer was vulnerable at Slams around then and Tsitsipas was already a proven NextGen talent.
It's Fog-Nadal at MC by a country mile and a half. I don't think anyone saw that one coming.

Fognini had beaten Nadal on clay before, though. Although he gets extra props for the way in which he beat Nadal in MC. Tore him apart.

Federer has never won "most improved" but Nadal and Djokovic has.

Does this mean Federer has never improved?

Will he win it in 2020?
