The 2022–23 NBA Season

1-17 from 3. Yikes. This is like watching Coria serve out a match. To quote Stephen A at halftime “them boys are playing like they’re SHOOK”

Of course the Nugs shot something like 41% for the series against LeBron, because of course they did.
1-17 from 3 and it was single digit lead for the Heat. Including all the turnovers from Denver like the other guy mentioned.

Miami's offense regressed back to regular season it seems. (they had a negative point differential I think)

It’s almost impossible to be tied in a game when you’re 2-18 from 3 with double digit turnovers but somehow the Heat offense is on life support. Theyre only at like 4-16 or something and Caleb Martin is now back to being the guy I watched play for State and the Hornets all those years. In short, a mug.

It really sucks about Jimbo’s ankle, he’s missing bunnies he never misses, it’s like he can’t elevate into shots. Milwaukee Butler makes this a real, real interesting series.

This is a rock fight. Perhaps the definition of one. Mug tier stuff, I don’t even think the defense has been that great, just a ton of bricks and sloppy dribbling.

What is Porter's FG% from mid range out this series....
Something tells me it would make even Russ blush.

I feel like an angry boomer/Jordan fan (usually the same people) saying this but would it kill you to go inside and take a balanced mid range or floater. I get they have to stand there and shoot for spacing but FFS. KCP and MPJ can both get to that 12 footer with space easily, they need to catch and go with the mindset of attacking off a close out.

Kyle Lowry, apart from the sparsely played K-Love, is the only man on the floor with one of them rings. And he’s showing these boys exactly what it takes to get one. Wow.

Crazy few minutes with bodies flying everywhere, then we get that ridiculous block from AG leading to a Murray midrange bucket.

Serbia better be ready because dayum...

It's party time with Djokovic and Jokic delivering in quick succession.

Capitulation from Miami. Really uncharacteristic, they’ve been so disciplined and smart all playoffs. Two boneheaded plays and a bad shot, and now Denver is on the brink.

Jokic is the new king of it all. What a player.

Something like 4-28 from 3, 15 turnovers, 50% from the free throw line and they just grit it out.

Congrats Nuggets. Best team all year and they proved it. And imo, they’ve got a real chance to do it again and again as long as the Jokic/Murray tandem can stay healthy. You really wonder if they could’ve done this in 2021/22 if not for Jamal’s knee injury.

Sad for Heat. Sad for Udonis. The glass slipper finally fell off.

Not sold on them being the next dynasty say, but who knows...

I wouldn't mind seeing it, because Jokic is some real magic and the Nugget's two-man game is an absolute delight to watch. Murray is dream viewing on the regular.

But TBH I still don't expect any particularly dominant team to rule the landscape over the next 5 years. Perhaps we'll get a couple of Jokic-Giannis duels in that span and another title for each.

I was headed to the psych ward after that blown call (could’ve been the worst ever given the stakes, or am I a prisoner of the moment?). Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkk what a game, win and series! The Zombie Heat made my bum tight. Put a hundred spot on them because they were a good value-bet and to soften the blow if the Nugs lose, IDGAF about that rn though.

I feel like I'm very sober watching these games, and thought the call was a special breed of assclownery.

Good two days for you with Djokovic and the Nuggets getting it done. ;)

If this was good ol 2k, Kendrick would be inviting Jokic on his show, and he'd be arguing that Jokic still doesn't deserve a 90 rating.

Kendrick, you're rattled again, son.

That makes me wonder. Now interested to see what Murray's is. I'm thinking it would be mid 80s.. Yep, just checked. 84, no doubt that has to rise a bit.

Well the good news is @Kralingen picks the Nuggets for next year so all other teams fanbases are rejoicing atm.

Will have to see where they go with the role players but the two main guys being locked down before 2023 is a significant benefit with the cap. The roster as currently constructed could improve imo, no backup center and no real ball handling PG. they’ll likely lose Bruce Brown but there are a lot of winning role players that will want to go there in free agency.

I think they have a ton of room in the West as well. An improved Dubs are the only ones who can challenge them over 7 games imo. And then the finals who knows. I would kill for a Jokic-Giannis or even better Jokic-Embiid Finals matchup in the next couple years.

Embiid needs to keep trusting the process.

Tennis Serbian MVP won yesterday to set the all time record and Basketball Serbian MVP wins tonight and is lowest drafted MVP ever! What a year for Serbia in sports.

^^The problem contract for them is MPJ's from what I've been hearing. He's owed 40mil or something I think.

If Memphis and New Orleans get their **** together, they're the big contenders. We dunno how long Ja's gonna be suspended though, and no clue what's gonna happen with Zion and the Pels. Other than that though, yeah Denver looks to be in really good position to repeat in the West at least.

Kinda forgot about the Suns too...But I have no clue how they're going to be able to build up a roster to support Book and KD. Sounds like CP3 is gone and probably Ayton too.

Mark Jackson “I finally got my MVP vote right”

Earned a laugh from me. Farewell 22-23 NBA.

Onto the draft in the coming weeks.

What a year for the Nuggets!!!! Even though they were a #1 seed, they weren’t the favorites to go to the finals; let alone win it. They beat the team that was favored to win it in the conference semis, then swept the team that had just beaten the defending champs. All in all, they went 16-4 in the post season to win the title to win their first title in franchise history. This was the fairytale season!

I just can’t believe they finished with such a flourish. 10-1 since their Game 4 loss to the Suns! One of the best playoff runs of all time by Jokic, no one can concern-troll about his weight or defence or anything else anymore lol. Makes it sweeter that he didn’t rub it in and kept his speeches and interviews short and understated. Literally nothing to hate on.

it’s actually kind of remarkable how few odious behaviors he exhibits. He definitely flips and can get a little chippy when physical. But overall compared to everyone else in the NBA, he definitely is the hardest to criticize.

Also… are we willing to do it?

Jokic is the best European player of all time.

Yeah I’ve been sitting on this for quite some time. I never have and never will forgive you for 2011 Dirk. Perhaps some more unbiased sources can weigh in.
