Okay so.

There are 6 critical questions that all competitive tennis players need to be asking themselves on a daily basis.

And they need to be honest with themselves while they are doing it.

Because the end goal in doing this is to...

(Help you reach your full potential as a player, by playing up to your full potential right now daily in practice.

Ask yourself the following questions...

1) What is the weakest shot in my matchplay game now?

2) Am I working on developing an all-around game for consistently competing at a high level?

3) How much do I work on building up my character on a daily basis, both on the court and off it?

4) How well do I deal with pressure in my tennis matches?

5) Am I playing up to my full potential in practice daily?

6) How strong is my mental game right now?

You should get to a quiet place today.

And meditate and contemplate those questions, after you answer them.

I promise you.

If you can do this daily for the next 2 months.

You will be able to build a strong foundation for success in your future matches.

And you will be very happy with your results.

Please let me know what you think about these key questions, so we can have a conversation on them!!!!

What was the result?
Why would I? I'm a retired coach now writer... and show your real face Knox and show your real name(not going to communicate to fake memes). 90% of you guys are hiding behind fake names and photos and then making unrelated comments on other peoples post!! Which is why this site has such a bad reputation...

I would go to Jeff Greenwald and fearlesstennis for some answers.

lolololol man, real names or alias:?)) who cares. for me personally, what they/he/she/zhe/it/etc are/is talking abt, ie the content of the info/knowledge carried/lead, is mil x more important than the personself/watavaself unless having some sort of practical business to deal with dat person/entity/watava:)))....................at front of a mob of adults w/ above average iq, any silly/stupid/fakenews/etcetc might be simply laughed off. actually the alias mostlikely do protect/encourage those reveal the simple truths such like 'emperor's new clothes' etc which most ppl already knew though against the pc or social norm to say, lolololol.............welcome to social media forum, put up w/ it n enjoy it:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D...................

I think those are some good questions to ask yourself. I generally think its good to ask yourself questions and answer them as honestly as possible. You mention meditation and while its not for me, I agree its a good thing to just generally think about it, especially if youre serious about being competitive and a competent player. Not just playing for fun but for the challenge and joy of self improvement, to be the best you can be. Some people might meme that or joke about it but maybe they just dont get it. Perhaps they have other motivations for playing tennis like just trying to stay in shape or enjoy some time out with friends.

I follow a similar philosophy of asking myself questions and trying to better myself mentally, however I dont do it with frequency, generally if I am frustrated or angry, then I follow a process of trying to work through it and underatanding my frustration. Maybe I ought to be more frequent though in my self analyzation because things do tend to regress after a while and I forget things that I learned.

Thomas, just ignore the negative posters. Others try to be funny but it comes out wrong. Your posts are always positive and appreciated.

I'm with you, it is all about self-awareness and then self-coaching at the end of the day, wouldn't you agree?

Why did u retire from coaching
Because I ran into the powers that be in the Japanese coaching world over here (JPTR) and after 28 years I wanted to start my own self-publishing company. So, I guess you can say they force me into retirement... But I love what I am doing now, so it's all good!!

Lol.... tw forum publishing doesn't pay very well I'm afraid. It's all free.

rome wasn't built overnight, man. every1 has to start from somewhere. actually not bad at all to start w/ '-1p' which's surely so close to break-even, much better than those $bil$ sucking losers startups, man.

the core issue's it's direction/trajectory, universally everything incl us evolved for bil n bil yrs dat way already, manohman. ttwisely speaking, super-duper enjoyably playing tennis in a very relaxed way should be the core for the 99.999% rec-ers n those 0.001% ie a few 00s out of the ~70mil 'tennisers' worth of worrying about their rankings etcetc as dat'll really really count for their livelihood..............for majority of us rec-ers, manohman lucky to really enjoy watava we'r doing, yet.

u can sense the pain ie 'psychological n physical deficit' from a lot of posts here, a lot to learn, man............while watching tennis going downhill yr by yr. lololololol, boyohboy:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D.........................

I don't see how this will help.

Here are my answers. Tell me how they help and how two months daily will do much.

1) What is the weakest shot in my matchplay game now? Forehand topspin off of no pace shots. Its out all the time. Not enough spin to keep it in. Trying to be careful just makes things wrong. Fh volleys are weak. No power little offensive punch.

2) Am I working on developing an all-around game for consistently competing at a high level? Sure I like taking the net serving and volleying etc. Hate baselining though. Its dumb.

3) How much do I work on building up my character on a daily basis, both on the court and off it? I am 50 years old. My character is what it is. I don't cheat make good calls, tell the truth (even in business meetings. Hey mr. bossman if you want me to do busy work I would rather do it at the other company where they have 401ks and company vehicles) etc.

4) How well do I deal with pressure in my tennis matches? Great. I often get down 0-40 and Sampras back. Rarely double on break points, etc. Like its tennis man its pretty fun.

5) Am I playing up to my full potential in practice daily? Lol. Good luck finding people here that practice. They all just want to play sets. And no I don't play everyday.

6) How strong is my mental game right now?
Its weak on the fh. Like a voice says "miss it" in the middle of the stroke. Everything else is ok. Though I find it easy to tank after being up for some reason.

Ok, now what actionable stuff does this get me. Will it fix my fh? Will it stop me from trying to improve a perfectly good fh and make it worse? Will this exercise stop me from watching edberg serve and imitating it only to ruin my serve that day after initial success? Will it fix my crush it or dink it absolutism?

WHat is my action plan now?

1) What is the weakest shot in my matchplay game now?

well, boyohboy.......relativity issue, man. if help a 3.0 to warm up, not many eu/fu. but if rally w/ a 4.5/5.0, gee, only fh playable...........

2) Am I working on developing an all-around game for consistently competing at a high level?

lololololol manohman, no comp/tour, yet. as a 60 yro, i'm just lucky to addict to 'tennis'......nope, not really tennis. only fh/bh top spins like ~1200 hits daily to fixup my craving meanwhile replacing ~1 lt self-made electrolyte to detoxify myself n aftermath super-duper deep sleep. lucky to have a inclined wall 2min walk away n plenty 1/4-1/2 myros to hit on wknds. >1/2 myros, menoldmen, boring to death n most of them, i should say 'most of us', seem engraved on gravestone already.......but i don't mind to hit w/ them as long as the ball can keep coming back for me to hit..........

3) How much do I work on building up my character on a daily basis, both on the court and off it?

why so serious, man:?)))............the smokers might be annoyed if ya ask them 'how much do ya work on building up yar smoking character on a daily basis, both in-office n out-office:?))' gee.............

4) How well do I deal with pressure in my tennis matches?

no pressure at all, man. simply amused by those young ego-ers got sososo much tension n fkn tensed themselves up, a big factor of getting injured te/ge-ly boyohboy. i always give them benefit of doubt on line calls or even deliberately to make them win in order to keep them happy. also it's good for me too as i enlarged my 1/2 court to raise the bar for myself. who knows, i might play comp in the future. like qc>qa, it's crucial to setup more stringent spec w/in the producers b4 passing on their products to clients/custormers, blablabla........................

5) Am I playing up to my full potential in practice daily?

why so serious, man:?)))............the smokers might be annoyed if ya ask them 'are you smoking up to you full potential in smoking daily?' gee.............

6) How strong is my mental game right now?

mental stress/tension only can be caused by over stretched watava staked too much. for me, super-duper relaxlaxlaxed, man. as it's nothing but a byproduct of my addiction n daily dosage, w/ tiny bit math/physics (most of hs stuff btw, barely involving tertiary/uni/college stuff:)) re-definding/simulating according to tennis specs, easy cheesy, lololololo man.............

Lol. You have no idea about the idea of a viable business. And even less about the reasoning behind venture capital.

TD has no chance of making a profit as a writer. And no one will invest in his writing career. A more accurate description is "google copy and paste" career. Lol....

You are comparing Thomas Daniel's writing business to a startup that receives venture capital. Not remotely the same. And yes I agree td cannot afford to lose any money he will never make back via his writing.

I'm pretty sure all his "writing" is just stuff sureshs posted on here.
