The Barricade 8's deserve more respect

Title says it all, in many threads in this section I see a lot of hate on the barricade 8s, just why? I've been wearing the barricades since the 5s and I have to say that these are probably my favorite pair yet (haven't tried the 8+ yet).

They are the lightest version of the barricades, they are the most durable shoes out there, they lock your feet in, and to me but not many on here they are pretty comfortable. I've never had any toe jamming or slipping at all, these shoes are just perfect for me. Love them. Maybe there are some reps for competitors on here or Nike extremists, I don't know, but these are amazing shoes. Can't wait to try the 8+!

The Barricade 8+ is the best Barricade ever. Yes I said it.
The 8+ is better than the Barricade 5.

There's no arguing about the B8 durability. They're pretty much indestructible.

Obviously, comfort is subjective to an individual person's foot but the B8 is not comfortable for me...nowhere close to the V9, V9.5, CB4.3, SS1, SS2, GR4 and GR5. Compared to those, the B8 feels like it's made of wood.

I guess there's a natural trade-off between comfort and durability. The V9.5 and SS2 are soft, fast, and I love that. But I tear through them quickly. My feet are 47 years old so I'm all about comfort.

Is it really that good? I can't wait to try them out, I'll try them out as soon as my last B8 is done. On my last pair now so only a month or so away!

I feel like you just gotta man up, you know? I honestly find them really comfortable, durability is way more important to me. No need to be spending so much money constantly on Nike shoes. I'm definitely trying the 8+ soon.

Which did you like better between the GR4 vs. GR5? I've never worn an Asics shoe, but am looking at those two as well.

I have noob question on barricade shoes. I tried barricade 8+ and 8 in a store. I loved the over all, especially the supports on the sides. But what i dint like was the shape of the insole. I felt a big protrusion in the middle of my feet.. and im not sure if that would go away with use. Im little bit flat footed. Anybody experienced the same?

No but a simple solution is to buy your own custom insole. They even sell them on TW: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/searchresults.html?search=products&searchtext=Insole&submit.x=-136&submit.y=-165

Yes, really. the uppers changes makes a huge difference. The B8+ is so much better that the B8. The 8+ is on par with the Nike Air Max Breathe Cage II

I'm happy with my 7's. I never tried the straight 8's but the 8+ seems to be getting good reviews. In what area is the 8+ an improvement over the 7's?

Wow, awesome to hear, can't wait to try them out! What color did you end up buying? I'm thinking about either the grey ones or the navy ones.

I like my B8's and am just now about to use my second pair. I found they were comfy after new insoles and attention to the laces was paid. Excited about the B8+ as I like yellow green.

Man up? Haha, well maybe you're right. My B8s are sitting in pile of old tennis clothes that I need to dump at Goodwill. I just prefer the V9 and V9.5

I really liked the GR4 a bit more than the GR5. But eh SS1 and SS2 are even better for me.

I'm just not a fan of a lot of clunky rubber sole material and stiff plastic upper material. It's just too much...

Now when the B9 comes out, i will definitely be trying those

Bided my time, and bought myself a pair of Solar Green/Black B8's whilst they were on sale. Have't had any of the problems most have with them, to be honest.

Sure but those green ones don't look all that great to me. Can you post a pic of yours? Might look different in person just like the second blue colorway of the Barricade 8 did. I like both the navy and grey ones, leaning towards the navy ones.

I was really thinking about trying the GR5 after my B8's were done but with the 8+ here it'll have to wait.

What makes you want to try the B9? A years away and who knows what they will be like.....hoping for the same durability in a lighter package.

Love the 7's and 5's. I never minded the 6's and they were alright for me. I wish I could say I had a good reason for not liking the 8's but mostly I didn't like the way looked on me. I also didn't like the cushioning. I felt like it was less than the 7. Haven't tried the 8+ yet but I think I would as their aesthetics are more appealing to me.

The green is pretty bright and really POPS at you in person. The green in the TW pics may look just slightly subdued compared to in person.......

Ah alright, got it. I like it when the color pops sometimes like in those blue B8's, but I also like dark colored shoes especially black. If you had to choose between the grey and navy B8+ which would you go for?

But it is a plus and the dude has a catalogue with it in and a good track record.

That guy is borderline obsessed with this stuff so who knows he could very well be right. I wouldn't mind the B9 coming out in 6 months depending on the performance of the 8+

Theyre up on TW right now, best looking Barricade to date imo

I'd say comparable to the red one last year. But I agree best colourway so far for this year!

Have to agree with guys, this shoe looks amazing! I might have to pick up a pair for myself even though I like the 8's better than the 7's, plus I still have to try the 8+.....so many choices.

I really wanted to like the B8 but it really was the most uncomfortable shoe I've ever worn. Constant ankle rubs being the main problem. Switched to yonex power cushion D and never looked back...

B8, for me, feel clunkier than pretty much every other model I've worn (B2, B6, and B7), but you probably shouldn't listen to me, as I am still upset they got rid of the CC Genius, which was my favorite Adidas shoe, and I think better than all the others. If I were to go back to Adidas, I'd probably go with the B7, but as of the moment, I'm enjoying the soccer shoe like fit of the Lotto Raptor IV.

Do B8+ users still stand by their statement after a few more weeks of use? Because the TW written review came out, and it looks like all of the scores have actually been marked down, and the comfort stayed the same.
