The big four dominance in last 12 years.

So im kind of a stats nerd, and I was really fascinated about this facts.

It's really amazing how much titles the big four had won. Especially Novak, Nadal and Roger of course, but Andy Murray as well.

Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, they were great of course, but Pete won "only' 11 masters tournaments. Before top players would take long brakes, skip a grand slam occasionally, or part of season.

The big four is just not stopping since Roger started his dominance in 2004.

So here are the stats:

In last 12 years, since 2004, the big four won

  • 43 out of 49 grand slams (88%)
Out of last 49 grand slam tournaments, since 2004, only three times no one from the big four played final. French open 2004, Australian Open 2005, and US open 2014.

  • 89 out of 110 masters tournaments (81%)
Out of last 101 finals, only 9 times no one from the big four reached finals (91%). Or out of last 83, only 4 times no one from the big four reached finals (95,2%)! Or 46 out of last 47 finals (97,9%)! That is insane!!

  • 11 out of last 13 world tour finals (83%)
Out of last 13 finals, only one time no one from big four played finals, in 2009.

  • And o yeah, over 310 000 000$ in winnings combined.

Don't know about the rest of you, but im absolutely fascinated how much only four tennis players achieved in last 12-13 years.
