USO 2008 was the first true arrival of the big four on the biggest stages, where for the first time, we had the Four Horsemen make it to the semi finals and battle it out for the title. It was the first time that all four were contenders for a slam.

We got Federer v Djokovic and Nadal v Murray for the semis

The final saw Federer v Murray

With Federer winning his fifth USO title

Since then, the big four have played at RG 11 which was won by Nadal, USO 2011 which was won by Djokovic, AO 2012 which was won by Djokovic,

Interesting stats
The big four have played each other as a combination four times from slam semis onward, and two of them have been at USO
The big four have never been the final four at Wimbledon despite the big four winning every single W title from 2003 to 2018
Murray is the only member of the big four not to win a slam when the big four were the final four

Not a slam I know, but he did win Toronto in 2010 beating both Nadal and Federer in the SF and F. Was impressive.

With all respect to Murray, he was never at that level. And that has nothing with slam number or other statistics.
For me it was always a suprise when he wins a match against F, N or D. I never thought that he had a chance when any of the three realy "show up". It's just a personal feeling.

For me, it's Big Three - Roger, Rafa and Andy Murray.

They all have talent and all the talent in the world is associated with them.

Djokovic is a great athlete and a hardworking guy but lacks the talent of the above three.

Given that he has won 29 matches against them you must have been surprised quite a lot!

I remember watching all of those matches when they were live.

Can't believe it's been 10 years since then.

Also, this is the 10 year anniversary of Roger Federer's last US Open triumph.

Wow, that many!!!!!!!!!!!
I must say he is much better then all the rest second tier players.
But then again he is playing for 10+ years, so 2-3 times a year is not that much to be suprised.

Actually when the big 4 name came out Murray delivered on hard courts winning 54.9% of points to Federer's 53.6% in 2009. About the end of that time he started having issues with his back and has been up and down ever since.
On hard courts Murray did the following:
Won 2008 Cincy
Finals 2008 US Open
Won 2008 Madrid Masters (hard courts)
Finals 2009 Indian Wells
Won 2009 Miami
Won 2009 Rogers Cup
(Also won Doha, Rotterdam and St. Petersburg during this stretch)

All this facing two of the greatest hard court tennis players of all time (Federer and Djokovic).
