Switching from leaded Head LM Instinct 327g/ 7pt HL to M Pro #1 98 UL. More maneuverable, easier to swing (long and hard) and better spin production. It has more power than expected (which I like) with excellent silky smooth feel (w/ rubber band dampener), reminds me of POG 4 striper OS.
As always, I replaced original syn grip with leather (Gamma), but realized no weight difference (5-7g gain in the butt was what I hoped for to bring it closer to SL but...) With tornagrip and strung with CyberFlash 17g poly, it came out to be 314g/ 4pt HL. I thought it may be too light for me, but it is very stable and I am not planning to lead it up yet.
Only thing that I am still dialing in is slices and smacking floaters for a winner in the mid court, where I feel a bit less plow-through....but I think I just need to step in to add weight to the ball. Will play more and see before experimenting with some lead, as I love its maneuverability, especially at the net.
Anyway, this is my first Fischer and glad I discovered it...and I bought 3 new sticks for $200 shipped....what a deal.
2 M Pro 98 SL weapons are on the way to my HQ, so hope they swing well, you can count me in.
Yep, I believe they will be discontinuing their tennis line of products. Great prices right now though, even on the used ones. I picked up 2 M Pro1 SL's for 100 bucks shipped on this very forum; in great condition too.
I'm currently trying out different string setups so if there is anyone out there that still uses Fischer is interested I can give my opinions.
I'm looking for a new racquet and ideally it would be this:
Headsize: 93 - 95 (98 acceptable, possibly even 100)
Weight: 11.5oz min, 12oz+ better
Stiffness: no more than 60 (I like flexy)
Beam: thin thin thin (I like 19 or 20)
String pattern: open (16x19 or 16x20)
Except for beam, there are a number of Fischers that seem to fit the bill. I am demoing the M Comp 95, and it's okay, but I don't love it.
Can anyone tell me about the Pro Number One 98 and the Speed Pro Number One 98?
Do they have a good ball-pocketing feeling? I need that, but the M Comp 95, while it has that, sort of feels dead or "numb" to me. It lacks feel, and I don't like that.
Any suggestions from the Fischer Faction?
I have 2 Granites...love them
Please tell us more about them!
I own a couple of Black Granite Tours 320 grs, all I can tell you is that this is the absolute best racquet in terms of feel( Babolat Excel @ 57 lbs.).
Flat shots, slices, topspin everything feels great with this stick!. I have always liked both Fischer and Kneissl racquts because of their feel and craftsmanship. Love the Kneissl Red Star and would probably switch to the BG tour. The problem is that this sticks are very hard to get in the US and it will be even harder from now on since Fischer has been sold to Pacific strings; therefore, I'm sticking to the Kneissls.

maybe poly would be badI really don’t think there is a bad string choice with this s racquet
We are the proud users of Fischer racquets! Post here if you are a believer in the greatness that is a Fischer racquet.
Members should specify which racquet and string they are currently using.
Right now I'm using an M pro no. 1 SL strung with a full Babolat VS string job at 60 lbs.
Come out wherever you are, Fischer owners! I know there are a few of you lurking here somewhere!
i do not own a fisher racket, but i have been considering the PRO one oversize.
my question is:
i have suffered all summer with tennis elbow and have been looking at the pro kennex 5G.
everyone tells me the 5G is the racket if you have arm problems but i love the fisher, plus it is about $40 cheaper.
what do you all think of the fisher os as an arm friendly racket compared to the kennex 5g?????
I have played with both the 5g and ki5. I still have a ki5 laying around but am currently enjoying the company of a racquet named M Pro 98. I absolutely love this racquet. Regarding arm friendlines, I found that the Fischer is as good or even better than the 5g/ki5. I find the flex and low power perfect for my game. The increased weight (~12.5oz) in my mind made the racquet even friendlier. I use to still have arm pain when playing with the 5g/ki5 over extended periods of time but with the M Pro 98 arm pain is gone. Although this could be due to increase forearm/wrist conditioning.

what strings and tension do you have on your fisher M one pro 98?
The OS is lighter than the M Pro 98 SL, so weight is prob not an issue. Currently I have mine at #58 with Maixm Touch, but according to others I would start at #55 with your regular string and adjust as needed.

The MS105's grip shape is Fischer's traditional square shape, which can take some getting usd to. The M Pro 105's grip was updated to a more conventional rectangular shape, better imo.
Can you describe the new system please? This is correct. I use the M-Comp 95, which has the new Palette System, and a better grip shape imo. My friend's MS 105 has the older Fischer shape.
Personally, I like the new Palette shape, but my friend had no problems adjusting (he used a Babolat before).
