When I first saw it's specs, I immediately thought of the Progressor NT, but that was 98 sq in and 16x20 pattern. So the best I can tell, it is a 100% new mold.

I'm interested in it for some of my high school players (I coach a girls team). It seems to be a Pure Drive clone.

I demoed the X-Fast Pro along with 2012 Pure Drive Plus and Pure Drive Plus Roddick.

Contrary to my expectation, the X-Fast Pro was harsher on my arm than the Pure Drives.

The old pro number 1s are just baseline scalpels inflicting heavy cuts on all who are foolish enough to even think about standing up to them

Damn, I was afraid of that. Looking at the stiffness of 68, I thought it was a little high for a Fischer, which led me to believe it was a completely new mold. But I was hoping it was a fluke and they retained some of the Fischer feel.

Other than the harshness, what was your impression of the frame? Good balance & weight? Power? Was the demo strung w/ poly or synthetic?

I too was hoping that the Fischer/Pacific engineering could magically transform a 68RA racquet into an arm-friendly racquet. But no luck there.

I didn't hit much with the racquet after I felt the initial jolt, but what I remember is some diffused, disconnected, muted feel that for whatever reason did not translate into arm-friendliness.

I believe the demo was strung with a synthetic gut or a multi. I normally do not order a poly demo unless I'm out of options.

scotus

Well, reviews are subjective, so nothing extraordinarily odd there.

But when it comes to a racquet or string's arm-friendliness, I trust my arm the best.

You should always demo for yourself before buying a frame, but if you're going to listen to anyone, you can choose to hear from a guy who has an ultra-sensitive arm (yours truly) because of his previous bouts with tennis elbow, or from someone else who might have a perfectly healthy arm and cannot tell apart the harmful shock that jolts the arm from a harmless ping from the stringbed.

Plus, the other posters who compared the X-Fast Pro to Pure Drives in that thread did not specify which version of the Pure Drives. My comparison is to the 2012 models of Pure Drive Plus and Pure Drive Plus Roddick. From what I hear, the 2012 versions are far more comfortable than their predecessors.

I agree. That's why I have the demo on order with Tennis-Warehouse :)

Just waiting on another stick in the lot of 4 to get back in house before they ship out my order.

I just acquired a vacuum pro mid plus from my dad. I believe he purchased it new in 92' or 93'. I want to string it up but the grommets are completely destroyed so I need to replace them before doing so. Where can I get grommets to fit this stick?

Also, what is the recommended tension?

Hi guys,

I'm a big fan of Fischer racquets(unique feel!), I play with Vacuum Pro 90 and Pro #1.
Here are pictures of Pro #1 header card, I havent's seen it earlier on board:

Just recently I started hitting with Fischers and they truly are gems! On the bay I purchased a practically brand new Mpro No1 SL (red and green) and it is honestly the best stick I have ever taken to the courts. If I could just find some more, I would be more than happy to buy at least two additional ones but alas Fischer is no more and i'm not really willing to buy an xforce pro

Has anyone here hit with the X-Feel Tour and if so which Fischer frame is it underneath the PJ? It intrigues me as it is a tweener spec with a 56RA which my elbow would appreciate.

It's predecessor is the Fischer Magnetic Tour Lite ( http://racquetfinder.com/?name=magnetic+tour&manufacturer=Fischer&x=41&y=14 ). I've hit with it a bit, and it is a real nice frame, but if I were to play with it I'd have to add 25+ grams to give it some heft.

Like other Fischer frames Pacific has released, it's fairly low powered, but unlike the X Force Pro and X Feel Tour 95, it's not a stiffer version of its predecessor. In fact, looking at the specs, it seems to be a tad less stiff.

I know a few people who are using this frame and are really enjoying it. From what I gather, though, you'll know from the first hit whether its for you or not. The people I know who have hit with it either love it or hate it.

Have you hit with the X Force Pro? I ask because I used the M Pro No. 1 for a bit (the black/green/yellow version) before demoing the X Force Pro, and found it to be a slightly stiffer version, but in a good way. It still retained much of the feel, as well as control, but added just a tad more power.

After many rounds of demoing, I decided I actually liked it better than the M Pro No. 1 and picked up 3 of them. One year later, I'm even more happy with my choice.

On a side note, I still have my M Pro No. 1s, and would offer them to you, but they were extended to 27 1/2", then put back to 27" (previous owner did that), so they're not the original handle/palette. Plus, as I said, they're the black/green/yellow, not the black/green/red.

Thanks McLovin, I knew one of the Fischer fanatics would know which frame it was. It seems like a real Marmite racquet and I have heard it described as "the lowest powered 100" frame other than the Gamma T7". Not sure if that is true but a lower powered tweener would personally suit my tastes so that comment doesn't put me off. I mod nearly every racquet I buy so not a problem there. Might have to pick one up for a demo.

Hey there, I figured this is the best place to ask...

Does anyone remember if this No.1 itteration features a pallet?

Also does anyone have the specs of the 285g version of this frame?
Not a typo - 285g.

I'm not 100%, but I'm guessing the answer is 'no'. I believe the pallet system was introduced between the M Speed Pro No. 1 (red/green/black) and the M Pro No. 1 (yellow/green/black).

Well, I've looked around & can't seem to find any specs. The best I can offer is to use the 'wayback machine' and visit other sites that carried Fischer back in 2003-2005:

http://archive.org/web/web.php

I've already tried TW and that place in the mid west, but apparently they didn't carry the 285g version.

Fischer Grip Pallets -- Uber Ellusive!

Hello Fischer Folks,

I need some help tracking down some grip pallets for some newly acquired Pacific rackets...

I have 3 X Force Pro's that are supposed to be 4 3/8, but they are measuring @ under 4 1/4...I'd like to get them closer to 4 1/2

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Maybe Ross, I have always found Wilson's a bit "brassy" (don't know a better way off describing it) but do have an old N-Tour 2 that I like. I will see if my local shop has the Pro Open.

McLovin, how certain are you of this? I have a couple of pallets and was hoping to find some red/green Pro No. 1 105's to put them on. Can anyone else confirm?

While I'm asking, I read on another thread that there was an earlier time in which Fischer used replaceable pallets. Does anyone know what year they went away from it, before returning to it with the M-Speeds?

Well, a good friend of mine uses the black/red/green Pro No. 1 105, which I string for him, and that most definitely does not have the new pallet system. Whether there was a pallet system on Fischers prior to this, I don't know.

I used the red/black Pro Tour FT back in 2001, and that had the same grip as my friend's Pro No. 1 105, so if they had a different pallet system, I don't know when they had it.

Alas. That's pretty damned certain. Bummer, but good to know; thanks.

Hmmm... I wonder what the Pacific Comp 105 would be like, leaded to within an inch of its life? Or better yet, maybe one day I'll stumble across an old pre-tapered-beam Fischer 105, like the VT Comp, with a big honkin' #5 grip.

Is your's the 105 sq in? Like I said earlier, I 'believed' the pallet system was introduced on the 98s between the red/green & yellow/green, but I couldn't be certain.

The X Force Comp is effectively the Pro No. 1 105 'Light':

Looking at it again, it may be that the 'Light' line has the older handle and the regular line got the upgrade?

Don't Let It Bounce, I'd take a close look (if you can) at the handle shape. Now that I think about it, my friend's 105 may be the 'Light' version. If the handle is more rounded & bulges out at the bottom, it is the old non-pallet version. If it is shaped more like a Wilson & is flat at the bottom, then it's the new pallet type.

OK, this whole pallet thing has intrigued me. I went back a few pages & found this discussion:
http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?p=5256896#post5256896

Apparently there were red/green M Pro No 1s that had different graphics near the 'end-of-life'. Possibly those with different graphics had the new pallet system?

Going back a few more pages, it looks as if frekcles and loubapache have (or have had) the version of the Pro No. 1 we are discussing. Maybe they can chime in on the differing pallets?

I believe the rackets starting with the Magnetic Speed Pro 1 (Mspeed Pro 1, the red/black/green one) have the replacement pallets. However, the pallets of this line are different from the later models because these pallets have a separate butt cap (the older Fischer style).

The models after this have the integrated butt cap pallet system, still replaceable.

I could be wrong, though.

In the year since the last post, I have acquired, to my unending joy, an MPro Number One 105 red/green, and after removing the grip it appears that Loubapache is right. The 105's handle is off-white in color, has the two characteristic screws along its length and has a separate butt cap. That butt cap is rounded at the bottom.

The newer pallets that came out with the green/yellow No Tolerance line are dark gray, have the same screws in precisely the same locations (I measured), and they include an integrated, flat-bottomed butt cap.

It certainly looks like they are interchangeable, but I am reluctant to mess with those fragile plastic screws when the grip size is already what I want.

Over a month with no Fischer posting? :)

Hi, Bounce: How do you like the 105 red/green? Is yours SL or UL?

I used my 105 red/green SL on Monday in some doubles and I could not believe how good that racket is. Compared to the 98 red/green SL (my main racket), the 105 has more pace on flat serves, more kick on spin serves, about the same control, and more spin on ground strokes but I can still hit flat if needed. It volleys so easy. This one has some old multi/poly hybrid on it and was extended to 27-1/4" (due to that strange butt cap) and the strung specs are: 348 g, 7 pts headlight, 332 swing weight.

Many may not agree but I am starting to think the 105 is (overall) a better racket than the 98, in terms of match results. I just strung one up today with a soft poly (Isospeed Baseline Speed) at 42M/40C and will play some tomorrow with it. I just replaced the bumper guide with the one for Pacific X-Force Comp and it is 2 grams heavier than the original Fischer bumper guard.

Mine is an SL, and I love it so much I'm starting to think about thinning the rest of the herd (of rackets clogging up my life, I mean).

There are so many rackets on the market – too many, really – that as long as you're willing to tinker with lead tape, you can get your preferred weight/swingweight/length/headsize/stiffness from a dozen or more different frames. Thus, the real deciding factor is more often than not the frame's feel since no two feel exactly alike... and the 105, like so many Fischers, just feels delicious the way it sheds vibration. It makes you want to hit another ball with it right away.

I steered clear of it for a long time due to the very open string pattern, having long enjoyed the spin window of wider string beds tempered by the lower launch angle of tighter patterns, but so far I don't mind the 105's pattern.

Hell, I even like the graphics.

It doesn't leave flat serve potholes on the court like my old red & silver Pro Number One, but it doesn't leave little tears in the tendons surrounding my elbow, either, so that's good.

I feel the same. I have four 105s; two SL (red/green) and two UL (yellow/green NT). There are bunch of other rackets (mostly in pairs) around the house and I may thin down these.

So yesterday I used the 105 SL with Isospeed Baseline Speed at 42M/40C (one piece) for two hours. Since it was for the USPTA certification (I acted as a student because the tester is a friend of mine) so I had chance to hit forehands, backhands, forehand volleys, and backhand volleys; half hour for each shot. I also hit a few serves in between the half-hour sessions. Well, I have to say that string bed is very very nice: power, spin, control, comfort and touch. Compared to my normal multi main / poly cross, the feel and touch is a bit less for the full bed of poly but the poly paid itself in the added spin and control departments. 42M/40C felt a little bit mushy so I am going to string 46M/44C next time. I will continue to use the 42M/40C string job to see how long it is still playable (have two hours of doubles later today).

Squeaky Pallet

I have an M-Comp 95, with the pallet/butt cap combination, that makes a creaking sound if it's accelerated enough (serves, etc). I thought it must be a broken plastic screw letting the pallet move around, but now that I've taken it apart, both screws are fine.

It appears to be just a case of one pallet shell not fitting snugly enough, and I am about to try a layer of Scotch tape to make it fit more snugly. Before I do, has anyone here faced and solved the same problem?

EDIT: Never mind; I got it. The shells weren't bigger than the hairpin, but they were about 2 mm longer. I put a few layers of tape on the end of hairpin, and it's as quiet as a mouse.

Joining the FF!

Excited to join the Fischer faction with my two Black Granite Tour 100s.
I got these two babies new old stock; they are the UL version (295 grams) and came prestrung. At the moment, I have an overgrip on top of the original grip, leading to a total weight of 320 grams with a pretty even balance.
Will hopefully get to play this weekend. Depending on how this hit goes, I may then gradually increase weight (I'm used to about 340-345 grams).
Frames look really sweet, and I'll also see if I can take some pics and upload them in this place.

Thanks, tapatio!
- Here are my Black Granite Tours. They are the UL version, 295 grams. I played with one of them and decided to beef up the weight. Added a total of 18 grams inside the handle and 2 grams at 2 and 10 o'clock. Total weight strung, including a dampener, is now 340 grams. I'm going to hit with that racket today and see how it goes.
The paint job of this racket is really top notch, easily one of the most beautiful rackets I've held in my hands so far.
Edit: If someone has suggestions on how to do a two-piece string job on these, I'd be very thankful. The way I did it now, it works but looks a little weird...

Alex, these are really nice sticks. Top notch quality.

I used to own a pair in the SL version but sold them (because I am only focusing on the Pro No1 line). I might even have some grommets sitting somewhere. Your weighted is now very close to the SL weight.

Your two-piece stringing is correct. M tie-off is 6B and cross tie-off is 5T - 4B.

Thanks a lot, loubapache!
I just got back from playing, and the modifications absolutely worked for me. Most notably, my serve was much improved, but it also played more solidly (of course). So I'm going to alter the other one as well soon and bring it up to the same specs. Really wonderful rackets, lots of flex and comfort, plus very, very good control.
And thanks for giving me feedback on the string job, that makes me feel safe here now :)

I've hit with both (currently use the X Force Pro), and the best way to say it is the X Force Pro is a crisper, slightly more powerful version of the VT Pro 98.

Still retains the 'Fischer Feel', but not nearly as flexible as the VT Pro 98.

In case you didn't know...the Pacific X Force Lite is the VT 98 mold. I picked one up a while back & leaded/siliconed the hell out of it. Very close to the VT 98.

Differences and similarities? I liked the Mcomp for serve and volley but lacked rackethead speed for baseline bashing. The Pro 1 feels like a more well rounded racket.
