Hi - I’m new here so sorry if this should be asked elsewhere. Does anyone know more or less when a vapor pro 3 could come? I’m a Huge fan of the pro 1 but really dislike 2/11. And from what I read a lot of people feel similarly- so I’m hoping that Nike might take that feedback and launch a pro 3 that is closer to the 1

The whole reason why they changed the Pro 1 so much was because of precisely this: the feedback for the Pro 1 was **** poor. Man, I don’t know what to say here. The only reason they changed it so much to @d-quik ’s point is that everyone was so pissed they took away adaptive fit from X to VP1…. Now that being said, it’s still a great shoe evidenced by Alcaraz Fritz Rune Garin and others still using the VP1. Would hope that either the X or VP1 comes back, but don’t hold your breath

One more question
I understand Rune, Fritz, etc.. (Nike sponsored) get Vapor Pro 1 directly from Nike but where do other players (for instance Manarino) get their stock? Did they buy a lot in the past or does Nike still produce them and supplies Pros?
im sure nike provides those, the only place for us normal people to find them is e/bay now

Hi. New member here...I know a lot of people were asking this same question which was also a concern of mine before I purchased. My pair came in late October and I've been playing very consistently at a 3.5+ level 2-3 times a week in them. So far I am very happy with the durability of the leather. Havent had any issues, they're still as comfortable as day 1. I know it's been autumn/winter but I live in Los Angeles and the heat retention also has been a non issue. My previous pair of Vapors were 11s tho so not much frame of reference in that regard. Curious to see for my next pair if I stick with leather or go for the Red pair. Hope that helps!

Heat retention is there, but less so than the synthetic leather from 2012

Does anyone know what sort of time cycle these run on? Very keen to see what comes out next and when. I love mine and while they are doing fine at the moment, I don’t want to wear them out before I can get a fresh pair, ideally in a new colorway.
Reports/rumors say there are no new colorways coming in 2024

I love this thread. I see a tendency of Nike throughout the years cutting costs. first full foot frame, air zoom in heel and forefoot, and some models full length, and lunar lone tech. one by one we changed to just the heel, lunar lone tech to phylon and then to the most generic foam, eva, and foot frame gone. They only reason everyone liked these versions is because they had the foundations, but it was a living decline. Hopefully Nike will take a step in the right direction for 2025. I cut in just in time with vapor pro 1 to feel the "vapor" feel. Not a large hater of vp2, but its because I take big advantage of forefoot zoom air being such an aggressive player on it.

i have to concede after trying the VP2 on that it was decent, much better than the V11 cinderblock thing. just bummed the VP2 cushion is so so dense, like playdoh

agreed. I tried the vapor 11 and just found myself dragging to much on the tips of my toes to call it a vapor. I also hated that they said they cut unneeded material, and then continued to show they take out an entire drag/ toe guard of durability and saying was un-needed. I paid 160 and went through that in a month, and there "cheaper" 120$ dollar model has it. I love how they did a better job putting durability and weight in the spots actually needed, compared to their flagship model that is supposed to have all the thought and tech. man.

Really is a bummer. They didn’t even give it the old college try, 3 weak colors. Should have done a few in black, white, and other neutrals, would have never hit the outlets….
I’m a pretty confident dude so idgaf about the weird colors. The syn leather one is classy, but just a bit boring
Also not going to be super durable if you drag your toe, which I do. Clear signs of wear already.
I'm using my leather ones right now and have 2 pinks in reserve.

ya the toeguard on the v9/9.5 was never super durable, design flaw for sure. regardless, so happy we got a second wind of them in 2023

depends on the price, I actually liked the V3, but its not very breathable and as you mention adhesives are always a problem with 10-15 year old shoesFound an allegedly new pair on a resell website for a really good price. Worth it? I know it’s old and the midsole and adhesive might break down easily.

Any update of the MSRP for the shoe? The original VP1 was at $120. Hopefully stays the same but doubt it (I liked how affordable these shoes were when they went on clearance).Good news is the vapor pro 1 is making a comeback, with the 2021 USO swoosh design. Thanks for listening to us nike

As familiar as I am with this model, I've never had the pleasure of playing in them. My favorite tennis shoe so far has been the Nike Vapor 9.5 retros, how do these compare to the 9.5s. I've heard this is the proper TRUE successor to the Vapor X, would love to give these a go especially if they keep $120 MSRP!Good news is the vapor pro 1 is making a comeback, with the 2021 USO swoosh design. Cheers mate - welcome to the thread. Here’s how i would compare the 9.5 & VP1:
Upper: breathability goes to the VP1, but fit and adaptability goes to the 9.5..
Fit: 9/9.5 is wider. I would up half a size in the VP1. I use 8.5 in the 9/9.5 and 9 in the VP1
Cushion: 9/9.5 wins here. More midsole foam & a springier zoom bag
Traction: damn this one is close. I like the contact with the court in the VP1/X more. However, I think the 9/9.5 traction is more multi-surface and durable
Other thoughts: shank in the X/VP1 is better than the measly one in the 9/9.5 , just seems to have more rigidity and flexibility. Toe box in the X/VP1 is more voluminous then the 9/9.5 - more height basically

You really think it’s more durable? Not arguing/disagreeing with you at all just curious on your thoughts. I actually liked the durability on the VP1/X compared to the 9/9.5. It lasted me about a month of good play. Granted, I haven’t worn the 9.5 since middle school lol.

Could boil down to some various factors like pronation/supination. I will say I always found the vapor 9/9.5 to wear quickly, but I just chewed through the VP1 outsole. Specifically in the medial toe/medial heel
You should totally get the 9.5 reissue and just relive those memories. Such a sweet shoe, I bought 7 pairs last year and 2 AJ3s
