If a FO semi is getting trumped up for any reason, it's either Sampras or Dewulf. I don't think Vienna was one of the five titles Sampras won in in '95, so I'll go with Dewulf.

Which player did Fernando Gonzalez purposely hit with an overhead? Bonus points for why. He also gave him an apology at the end of the match.

James Blake at 2008 Olympics? That was a thrilling and controversial SF match. Blake had a lot of oppoturnities to close the match. There was tension between them as early as the second set. It was during the first game that things started to get testy between the two players. On the third deuce, the two traded shots on a long rally, then Gonzalez caught Blake running towards the net in the middle of the court and smashed a hard shot directly at Blake, who skirted out of the way. Gonzalez said it wasn't intentionally, but Blake thought Gonzo was.

After holding serve to takes 9-8 lead in the deciding set, Blake hit a shot that was headed directly towards Gonzalez. Gonzalez was close to the ball that landed out of bounds. However, it appeared the ball deflected off the handle of his racket and then fell out. The umpire ruled that the point in favor of Gonzalez, which enraged Blake. Blake appealed in vain to the chair umpire, and said Gonzalez should have conceded the point. Blake went on to lose the game to make it 9-all.

I was talking about the match with Stepanek at Miami 2009. This one was intentional. Yeah, I remember that entertaining match.

Trivia 10 is Wayne Ferreira. If you total Ferreira's record against these three, he gets a positive record, which is impressive!

For the movie buffs

Tennis typically gets short shrift in the movies. However, one of the most famous movie "meet-cute" scenes took place at a tennis court. When Alvy Singer is first introduced to Annie Hall.

What racket was Woody Allen (Alvy Singer) using ?

What racket was Diane Keaton (Annie Hall) using ?

Extra credit. Where were they playing ?

You're welcome. Answer for trivia 8 is Edberg and Roddick both won the Junior US Open and then went on to win the US Open in their professional career. Your other answer is interesting :D

Oh, yeah that makes sense. Isn't Edberg like the only player to win all 4 junior GS?

And Edberg won the Junior Grand Slam in 1983. However, a 16 year old Krickstein beat Edberg in the first round of the men's singles at the 1983 US Open, in a 5-set epic, 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 4-6, 7-6. Such matches would be Krickstein's speciality in winning.

Kafelnikov is the world number 1 who destroyed Santoro every time. The only other player who did likewise to Santoro, was Berasategui. And in turn, Berasategui also owned Kafelnikov and never lost a single set to him.

Other than Kafelnikov and Berasategui, Santoro seemed to have the knack of potentially getting under every player's skin. Most famously is how he drove Safin utterly crazy in their matches, and how he destroyed Wilander at the 1991 French Open, which was the final straw in causing Wilander to leave tennis for 2 years.
