The weak era has already been confirmed.

There is an entire generation of players that should have peaked from 2015-2021, yet nobody ever mentions them. These are the players born from 1990-1994. The generation after Djokodal, before nextgen. These are a group of players whose impact at the top was so minimal and whose relevance was so short-lived, that most people have forgotten them and failed to take them into account in defining the current weak era.

We call them lostgen.

Thiem, Raonic, Goffin, Dimitrov, Pouille, Schwartzman, Checchinato, PCB, Basilashvili, Krajinovic, Fucsovics, Sandgren, Delbonis, Lajovic. Ever heard of them? These were the players that were supposed to challenge Djokovic and Nadal from 2016-2021. These were the players nextgen was supposed to challenge from 2021 onwards. Among them, only Thiem has won a slam and actually started challenging Djokovic and Nadal for a couple of years. Unfortunately, he completely collapsed immediately after. Only 5 out of this group of players made it to the top 10. The rest have basically been journeymen.

It's mainly these group of players, along with the current weakness of the nextgen that define the weak era.

That was a weak gen, but at the same time Djokovic, Federer and Nadal have all been competing with each other for slams so overall it’s still stronger than 03-06.

Rarely were all three of them playing well at the same time. In 2015-2016, Nadal was struggling. In, 2017 to the first half of 2018, it was Djokovic. In 2016 and 2020 onwards, it as Federer. It was no better than the Federer Agassi, Federer Nadal and Federer Djokovic meetings in 04-07. Both eras are weak.

2004-2007 was better though. Nowhere near as weak as people are portraying it to be.

Djokovic defeated Federer or Nadal for 5/7 slams since 2018.

So he has one tough match out of 7 slam matches for those. He has a tough match in Nadal in the 2018 W semis to face Anderson in the final. He had a tough match in the 2019 W final, but faced RBA in the semis. He faced Nadal in the 2019 AO F but faced Pouille in the semis. The era overall is still weak.

And mummified Federer counts as strong competition?

They weren't weak. The Big 3 were strong. Easy mistake to make.

2018 W
2019 W
2021 RG

Were all excellent wins over big 3 playing at high level.

yeah RBA in SF of 19 W but in 07 Fed faced Gasquet pre final but we don’t call that slam weak.

19 AO Nadal was at his peak on HCs. Djokovic gets penalised for being too good .

2021 RG was a great win. The Nadal and Federer matches at W was also fantastic. But Slams are won by winning 7 matches, not just one. Anderson in the finals? RBA and Pouille in the semis? Nishikori and Goffin in the quarters? Weak. You can have some great matches in a sea of weak competition. The era overall is still weak.

I think Djokovic is the GOAT. But I also think the past 5 years have been a weak era. Nadal also took advantage of it. Federer too but to a more limited extent. All can be true.
It is hard to judge, because if there is a weak era the top players do not get the opportunity to define themselves relative to other top talent.

2004-2007 was weak as well when fed amassed the majority of his titles. . So it evens out. id say the only “stronger” time in the game in recent history is probably 2008-2013. That’s when you had a handful of guys playing at a high level

Tsitsipas and Shapovalov have displayed a much higher level than likes of Roddick, Hewitt ever did in the 01-06 vacuum.
Only Safin is comparable, and surprise surprise he won that match against Fed where he displayed ATG level
2003-2004 Roddick would have blasted Chichipas off the court on hard and grass.
