Thin Replacement Grips For Bevel Feel (prince resithin vs syntec team etc)

Looking for an updated comparison of the thin replacement grips we can get nowadays, especially since skin feel is discontinued.

Basically I'm looking for a thin grip that gives me the absolute most bevel feel possible, and from what I read the thickness is not the only variable for that. Anywhere between 1.4 mm and 1.6ish should be good

Anyone tried and is able to compare prince resithin with the new syntec team, or any other good options? The ac128ex or tecnifibre Xtra feel?

Both of those are good. I prefer the Prince Resithin, but Babolat is also good.
Another option is the TournaThin replacement grip. I believe it is thinner than either the Resithin or the Syntec Team.
All of these are good options for feeling the better bevel feel.
If you use an overgrip, then I would suggest the TournaThin.

The Tourna is too thin for me. I prefer a bit more cushion than the Tourna provides.
The Babolat Syntec is good, but I find that my Wilson Pro overgrip ends up slipping with some use and having gaps in the overgrip wrap around.
I don't have this problem with the Resithin.
However, in the Winter, I use Wilson Profile or Head Extreme Soft overgrip and those overgrips work just fine with the Babolat Syntec Team.

Babolat Syntec Team is pretty thin. I assume you also use an overgrip. I like Kirschbaum Touch and Ultra Touch the best amongst thin overgrips and they seem good in both humid/hot and cold/dry conditions.

Babolat Syn. Team is 1.5mm, Wilson Feather Thin is 1.4mm and Tourna Pro Thin is 1.25mm, all of them are really good options, they will remove about 5g of weight from stock but with the OG on top it will be back to stock weight.

If you want leather, TW sells a 1.3mm option (compared to stock you will add about 5g) and the thinnest will be Kimony at 0.8mm (compared to stock you loose about 3g)

They are all great options and I have used (currently using) all of them in different frames because I like to play with an OG on top and do like to feel the bevels.

leather is a bit too heavy, otherwise I'd go with it for sure.

I hadn't thought of feather thin, how's the general feel of the three synthetics compared? Under an overgrip, should I just go with the cheapest one available or is there a reason you go with a certain one on one frame versus another?

Kimony leather is really light. Lighter than syn grips according to a lot of people here.

I really don't have a preference, they feel pretty much the same under an OG and the weight once cut and installed is about the same. They all allow stretching for a tighter thinner fit.

I play with couple of PK frames both 315 and one has Wilson FT and the other Tourna PT and the weight difference is 1g, however on my babolats I use Syn Team just because its the same brand.

I forgot about Wilson FT.
That one also works well for bevel feel and has good cushion.

FYI the tourna thin is literally very thin at about 1.25mm. However if u have an overgrip it maybe ok. Feel free2try it out. It's so important to have a comfy grip u are happy with.

I have Babolat Skin Feel and love it. I tried Tourn thin and it’s just too thin..also hard to wrap at the butt cap. On a whim i tried Prince Resithin and it’s pretty good…I think once I pack it in with use it should be just perfect.

Resithin is thinner than skin feel I thought, shouldn't new Prince be about the same as a packed in babolat?

But either way, I'm also curious as to if the rubbery feel of the resithin has more squish and bounce than the babolat grips? I'd honestly try them myself at this point but resithins aren't in stock until the 18th it looks like

Tourna makes a 1.5mm version of the Pro Thin grip, called the Pro Tour. I dont think TW sells it, but TEx does. Both of those Tourna grips are good choices. (The other Tourna grips are not as good.)

As a long-time Skin Feel user, I didn’t like the new Bab Syntec Team Feel (white) grip at first, but now I do. It‘s very close to the old SF feel, and is still the best of that type to me. Very solid feel, not mushy like most others (except Tourna).

The Kimony is just too harsh. It’s better than just 2 OGs, but not much.

I haven’t tried the TF. Don’t like the ResiThin as much, or the Head Tour. But it’s a very personal thing, so the only way to know what you like is to buy 5 or 6 and try them.

good luck.

I'm going to get a tourna pro thin and resithin just because, but it looks like syntec team is what Ill end up with. I did also hear about the synth leather but it's quite a bit pricier

going from a wilson synthetic grip to kimony leather added 1g total

Can anyone give a comparison between the famous NY stringer synthetic grip and Babolat Syntec team?

I’m mainly looking for better bevel feel without the added weight of leather. I think the Babolat will be the same weight as my current grip where as with the other Syn Leather I may need to add a few grams in the trap door to equal it out.

With either option I’ll have a OG on top.

i usually have spare Wilson FeatherThin and Price ResiThin - both thin enough at 1.40mm, but cushioning enough after adding my usual (thinker) OG.
the FeatherThin will be lighter than the ResiThin after fitted, if you are also looking to reduce the overall weight.
it seem FeatherThin is more difficult to come by these days (due to the pandemic) and there are more ResiThin around. i used to get them when whichever one goes on sale, so i always have at least a couple of them spare.

While I don’t have the weight of the famous stringer’s synthetic grip, e-mail them and they might be able to give it to you. All I know is that and the Angell Pro Hybrid are the best base grips I’ve ever used.
