Third set scoring in mixed doubles????

I just knew that the second round mixed doubles match between Bjorkman/Raymond and Bhupathi/Hingis was going to be a good one. Really wish I could have been there, especially since these are not broadcast on television anymore. Couldn't even read about the match. Seems nobody cares anymore.

So, I looked at the match stats to see how close it was and how well they played. I'm confused about the third set scoring. The stats show the first set took 36 minutes with a score of 7/5. The second set took 54 minutes with a 6/7(7) score.

But, the third set only took 12 minutes and shows a score of 7/6(7)??? Huh? How are they scoring this? Is it an automatic 7/6 score awarded to the first team to win ten points (by two)?

Is this what they call a "ten point tie-breaker"? In the senior summer USTA league, they also wouldn't let us play a full set and had a ten-point tiebreaker. But the final score would be something like 6/4, 3/6, 1/0.

Don't know about you, but let's hope this doesn't make its way down to the leagues.

They've been playing this super tiebreak in mixed for a few years now. 3rd set score is still listed as 7-6, regardless of tiebreak score.
Mens doubles will start doing so in non-Slam events as well.
