Tremendous wear on my Asiscs shoes in the heel area

Hello. I have a problem with tremendous wear on my Asiscs shoes in the heel area. I am a recreational player and play about 3 times a week and my clay court shoes have been played about 3-4 months now. However, in the heel area, the material has already worn down to the plastic. This wear is inexplicable to me. Some of my tennis partners also have Asics shoes and this problem does not occur. Does anyone know the problem? Who can help?

You should not see any outsole wear if you play on clay. Do you wear your clay shoes outside of the courts? For example, driving could wear out the heels as you step on the accelerator and and clutch. I know that it happens with my regular shoes.

187 lbs. I have expressed myself in a misleading way. The wear is not on the sole, but in the heel area, i.e. where the heel/ Achilles tendon touches the inside of the shoe. here is a photo of the shoe: picture

This means the ankle collar isn't locking you in: this type of wear is caused by erosion, which is only possible with heel slippage.

A ankle collar that locks you in won't allow your heel to move up/down or left/right like that. When your Heel lifts: the entire back end of the shoe has move up with it

You need runner's loop lacing to lock your feet down. If you don't want to lace that way, you need a shoe with a better fitting ankle collar.

No big deal, I also assumed the wear was on the sole. d-quik has a sensible suggestion, I would try that!

Thanks so much for the great feedback! How can I tell a runner's loop lacing on tennis shoes? They all look similar to me.

what asics shoes? if they're gel res 8s, i noticed that they try to lock your foot down at the midfoot as opposed to the heel, so i have some rubbing at the heel as well, but i have not seen wear that significant.

I use the gel challengers as well, but not the clay version, but I do not have that issue. Like above poster says, it's your heal slipping, so try the runners lace to keep heal down.

Can you please explain to me what exactly you mean by "try the runners lace"? I am not a native English speaker. Do you mean tying the laces in a certain way?
