Tsitsipas new kicks

Anybody else notice Tsitsipas' new adidas shoes? He's sporting some that have a cover over the laces. I know he had extreme troubles with his shoes at a couple of tournaments, in one match he went through 4 - 5 pair of shoes. I remember hearing Jim Courier say "adidas has a real problem with these shoes they need to address"...

Wonder what "all new" and "run faster", "jump higher" solution they have?

It’s the upcoming new barricade laceless. However Tsitsipas’s pair looks like has a different lacing system but retail version gonna be totally laceless.

Looks like another sock type based shoe. Style and profit at the costs of stability. Nothing i will buy for my bodys health for sure .

Why am I not surprised especially with tsitsi‘s shoe problems from last season. I mean he doesnt seem to be an easy guy to make a good pair of shoes for.

The problem he has is he drags his left shoe/laces on the court making them break. I guess he broke the new boa lacing system as well. I personally love that lacing system and know it from my cycling days where the boa lacing is implemented in the top shoes, but cycling is no tennis and I think stef exerts huge pressure on the system. I have even seen them break on cyclists..

Ok thanks for the insight!

These shoes look super cool. I have flat arches and don't tend to roll my ankles. I noticed the Tsitsipas went back to regular laced shoes again Sasha at the ATP Cup. They must still need some tweaking.

Mr. Kim. this shoe must really suck. Tsitsipas already dumped the shoe and gone back to his trusty Sole court Boost. that is after playing just 1 match in it

Hey Rabbit - you’re showing your age! Long live PF Flyers (canvas, of course), but I think the Fly would blow through a pair before he got to run faster or jump higher. Hoping this year finds Stefanos’ dad just watching in the box vs. lacing.

Got my pair today. Its not too hard to put on actually. Fit is back to true to size. (I think the sole court boost runs half size big, these are true to size) Bounce cushion feels quite nice but nothing special. Ankle part feel very snug and tight but fore foot fits a bit looser. Very similar to the Ubersonic 2 in my opinion. I would pick Ub2 instead of this for sure.

I just don’t see them holding up to the demands Tsitsipas puts on his shoes. He slides around on hard courts as if he is playing on clay

It's going to be awhile until they have the technology to get the laceless system tight enough or supportive enough, especially with the booty. I love that laces, invented thousands/hundreds of thousands (depending on what you believe) of years ago are still proving to be effective and tough to beat. Go early man!
