Tsonga is pitiful in talent

I like Murray and he's gonna do well, but this just cracks me up:

"...Murray will be one of the first to sample the Rod Laver Arena. He has only played in the main stadium once before, losing out to Nadal in last year’s fourth round in a match many believed he was capable of winning. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is the initial obstacle but Murray is expected to begin in style. “Tsonga is one of our hopes for the future but compared to Murray he is pitiful in talent,” said an eminent French coach.

“Your man has so much skill, while ours just likes to hit the ball hard. Many of us in France would trade 10 of our players for Murray. We look for players who can knock Federer off the throne. Maybe it is Nadal at Roland Garros, that is proven. But at the places where Federer rules, here or New York or even Wimbledon, it could be Murray. He is a future Grand Slam champion, and soon.”

I'd take Tsonga any day over Murray who is too mopey and whiney. Tsonga reminds me of Safin(on a good day). Tsonga almost looks like he is walking on the court very unhurried and poised and very quiet. I like this kid already.

Considering the source, I wouldn't be surprised if the 'eminent French coach' is just a French guy the writer knows.

British journalists have trouble being objective concerning Murray.

I saw Tsonga play in person at the US Open against Henman last year, and he's a very different player right now. I might be biased because I was cheering for Henman so I remember feeling that Tsonga was one dimensional, a basher. But this clearly isn't true.

Talent doesn't matter if you can't keep your head together. Tsonga is both mentally and physically gifted.

I hope Tsonga was able to read that article.

I'd hope that if a French coach believed that about one of his nation's top players he would keep it to himself.
