This one was a tough call. But, I had to give my vote to the self proclaimed virgin, and self proclaimed genius (saying he was smarter than Hitler)... maximagq. He was co-author to one of the funniest flame threads I've ever read. Trading quite graphic insults with hammer 777 from midnight to about 4 a.m. Some didn't care for his arrogance... but he could "back it up", at least that's what he said.

A close second was our dear old friend... Brother Chico. President of the Novak Djokovic fan club, and his #1 stalker. "Sorry", "Get over it", "Ridiculous"...a few of Chico's favorite catch phrases. He was a very sly troll, never blatant insults, or name calling. That I could remember. Just had a way of getting under your skin. Not mine. Seemed like everyone else though. He was very good at creating drama. RIP Chico. :(

Are these usual suspects that are quite skilled at verbal communication, masterminds on the order of Keyser Soze???

The usual boisterous lads, again I suspect. Skilled at multi-tasking but elects not to tone down verbosity.

Harder to detect [well, not too hard...but without going to the dark side] if say, a top 1 percentile suddenly elects to ditch his learned self in exchange for benighted portrayal.;)

You, sir, are a "pretentious snob who needs to be put in your place"!

Ambivalent; drunken posting from mr. ramble on was amusing for a time but his communications breakdown on social issues and politics was Achilles' last stand so he had to march to the gallows pole.:p

Ambivalenz was coined by Swiss psych Eugen Bleuler. The Latin prefix ambi-, meant ''duo'' plus valentia, meant ''strength''. @kiki was drawn to--etymologically speaking--by two equally strong preferences—but essentially and in reality, Don Quixote cared neither Led Zep nor Queen [ambivalence often stems from caring neither].;)

The Windmill Baron is not synonymous [at all!; not even to the extent when much of the contents are redacted!] to Coco Vandeweghe! Uh-hmm!

Funny thing is, I also remember that back-and-forth tempest in a teapot, however I remember it eventually playing out a little differently...

Hammer777 started getting the better of the exchange by going full-bore / over-the-top on maximagq at which point maximagq and his little ego "blinked" and from there he was reduced to a quivering pile of Jello, litterally asking---begging---the mods to step in and shut the thread down. . At first I thought "who the hell is this hammer nutjob?" but then I saw what the guy's m.o. was all about: total, frontal, all-out mental blitzkreig that had maximagq quaking in his boots. .

At that point, my suspicions came to fruition regarding maximagq: an internet posseur wannabe 'playa'

Tennis Maverick. for a while around 2010 he was the most polarizing poster. During those Wild West times on the TT boards, he was taking shots from multiple posters and firing back as good as he got.

I would have given the decision to hammer, but maxi made it close. Hammer seemed determined to get banned though, so his commentary was a bit more "colorful".

As others have noted, the correct answer is Phil. It's been waaaaay too long. I hope he's alive and well and just got bored with the forum. I can't blame him, as I rarely post anymore. No Phil, no Senator Jay Bullworth, no whacky Larry Hall, limited Dedan's and Rabbit and a sea of repetitive Suresh-themed posts keeps me away. At least I have r2 to keep me entertained. :)

Also really miss SoCal Lefty and K Wilson Moose.
