Anyone remember mid-late 1970s University of San Francisco tennis team- Mike Jee, Byron Nepumoceno (any old school Filipinos in the house?)?

I hit mainly with MarkGee, Mike's older brother who was still at Annapolis.
Hit with Mike some, but he was a little midget in 1978.
Byron was a junior in highschool then, had a great topspin backhand, but little penetration or heaviness.
RollieZalameda of Mission was my weekly hitting partner. Twist serves and great low volleys, he beat MareenLouie for the AAA championships rather badly. Went right to Rollie's head, of course. He went to CanadaCollege.
ChuckWhite was the USF tennis coach, a low level A player.
PeterPearson was another hitting partner, but he really liked to showboat for $$$$. He kinda taught the shim sham tennis philosophy to Rollie.
Amy, a "student" of Rollie's, became a woman's 6.0 NorCal top player. I still play doubles with her sometimes.... great flat forehand which she didn't learn from Rollie, who hit conti slice and sidespins....like PPearon.

That's Riza Zalameda's dad, isn't it?

Yeah, Mike and Kevin were younger, and I hit with them at their court at Pine and Scott some. Gil was too good for me, but invited me over to hit with his high school boys.

yes,but he also had a big game,he used to own Brad Gilbert in college ... just didn't have enough sockets to tighten those screws .. I think Rollie also played Philippines Davis cup,,

Wow considering that Gilbert got to the NCAA D1 finals at Pepperdine, that's pretty impressive. Did he ever do anything in the pros?
