Pretty big news at the Davis Cup. First time in history that the US have lost to Canada.

#150 ranked Pospisil defeated #32 Fritz and then #15 Shapovalov defeated #36 Opelka to secure Canada a spot in the QF.

Once upon a time the American men dominated the sport from Tilden, Budge, Ashe, McEnroe and Connors to Courier, Sampras and Andre Agassi.

Now there's no American men in the top 10.

Well, where do I start?

1. There is zero atmosphere. That thing that makes DC special and different.

2. It is not Davis Cup. It is quasi-Davis Cup. QDC.

3. There are 5 fans waving flags. A joke. As opposed to 5000 people screaming for their team. Ah, Argentina...

4. It is QDC.

5. All of it is played in the same week, two matches less per tie, all bestof3. It is Dusseldorf Team Cup minus the charm. A sort of rush-job, to get it OVER WITH. The suits killed DC and figured let's kill it slowly so people don't notice that we actually don't want it all, not even QDC. Which is why an empty-headed Shakira-basher is in charge...

6. Absurd groups. UK has Holland and Kazakhstan, Canada has USA and Italy. Japan, France and Serbia are another group. Switzerland isn't "qualified" which is another joke...

It isn't Davis Cup.
