using different rackets affect my game?

I use a wilson k pro tour. I have a wilson performer tennis racket - it's similar to a k90, except about 30 years older. Because the performer is more demanding and heavy, I will have to work more on my footwork, timing, and focus. Would using a racket with different specs really affect me significantly? I personally don't think it would matter, but I'm trying to get other opinions

Depends on the player i guess. It'll have some sort of effect on you, the degree is doubtfull. Your timing may get a bit off when you switch and you may adjust your swing a bit according to the racket. Depends on how different the racket specs are, if they're just a bit off i'd say it's alright (better to get 2 of the same kind though), but would not want you to use a racket with way different specs, it'll alter your swings and timing quite a bit, and switching back and forth could get troublesome.

Your timing will be thrown off a bit. Maybe just enough to lose that next close match.

If you do want to practice with your older racquet, finish off with Wilson K tour so that your timing is reset for the racquet you will use in matches.

My guess is that this experiment will not last long.

Absolutely !

Different specs will allow certain types of swing and disallow other types.

For example, with my heavy 400gr nCodes, I can hit the Ferrer FH as the plowthru is very good. But with my leaded up AG300s I have to use more wrist action to hit consistently.

No question, different frames and setups change what is possible and what that frame likes. You can almost trace a player's style to his racquet apecs. It is no coincidence that Sampras's 2nd serve spin rate was so high and that his frame was so heavy.

Ive found using different racquet to have an effect on my game in varying ways, I feel I must say that wilson racquet have always changed my game in negative ways, I really hate just about every 'players' stick wilson has come out with, they dont have near the level of feel that Slazenger does.

You can switch between 2 rackets and get used to both of them... but in a match situation you will not be able to catch lines or be as totally comfortable with a racket
