What grass legend will Federer face in the Wimbledon final this year?

Legend
Difficult to say with so many grass legends in the draw...I would say any of Feliciano Lopez, Raonic, Pouille or Shapavalov

I m rooting for Krygios or Shapovalav to meet Fed in finals.

Shapovalov stomping Zverev in Semis would be sweet.

Edit - Oh wait I gave Zverev extra credit for being in Semis... Shapovalov Stomping Zverev in R16 would be sweet.

Cilic / Delpo

Murray isn't geting anywhere near the final even IF he somehow managed to be ready for it and everyone else is either old, injured or sucks on grass. I would like to see Raonic there but has been on/off injured for like 2 years now and the only other possible imo is Dimitrov but he's been awful this year. Federer could sleep-walk his way to the final.

Let us go over his all his finals, no?

2003: Scud no worse than Tsonga and Puerta

2004 F: Roddick at his peak with outrageous Forehand and serve and blowing Fred off the court for half the match.

2005: Beats a good Hewitt and Roddick back to back

2006 : Beats a grass newbie Nadal somewhat weak but who was beating him? Overall his Wimbledon is highest level I have seen at the event

2007: Beats a Monstrous Nadal playing out of his skin off the ground.

2009 : Beats a tactically smart and zoned serving Roddick

2012: Beats a Murray who probably played better here than the years he won

2017: Cilic a slam champion and one extra final apart from this.

Unknown, but you can bet it will be seen as far less of a death for tennis compared to the clay season by the geniuses on this board. #strongestgrasseraever

IMO the grass field is very competitive this year. We have :

Federer
Nadal
Zverev
DelPotro
Cilic
Anderson
Dimitrov
Djokovic
Shapovalov
Raonic
Tsitsipas

All these guys have the ability to play great tennis on grass. I don't think Roger is gonna win this one but I hope to.

Most of those guys aren't playing any better than they were in Australia, where they almost all disappointed early, allowing a less-than-great Fed to barely drop a set.

Right now the biggest threat to Roger is himself. Unless he comes out and has one of his old-man days like we saw in IW against Coric & Delpo, he should win.

I believe Kevin Anderson will make the final of Wimbledon if Federer is on the other side of the draw. Grass is Anderson's domain. Big powerful serving and flat hitting. He even went 5 sets with the best version of Djokovic in 2015 at Wimbledon. And Kevin Anderson has had a remarkable run here at the French Open on his worst surface. Going 5 sets with Diego. Anderson is hungry and in great form. Going to be difficult for anyone to stop on grass if he's on song.

Anderson, Ishner, Cilic may be.
Good choices. I can definitely see any of those guys making deep runs. With Murray and Djokovic not in the picture and with Nadal being a corpse by grass season, we may see a new Wimbledon champion outside of the big 4 if Federer isn't able to pull the trigger this time around at his age.

Can I just before anything else in this post that I don't think Rafa will get anywhere near the final - but, those dishing on him in this thread (as usual) need to understand that if he does happen to get to the final, he will be dangerous there.

Rafa in BO5 tennis is a different beast to Rafa in BO3 tennis on any surface. Yes, Fed beat him convincingly last year at IW, Miami & Shanghai (BO3) - but the only slam meeting was at AO (BO5) and it went deep into the 5th at Rafa was up a break in that last set. Yes, Fed certainly deserved to win that match but let's not pretend that Rafa is going out in straight if he happens to make it through to the final.

Anderson, Isner, Delpo, Cilic. I think a good draw and Norrie might go quite deep too.
