Anyways ethnically, Taiwanese (bar the local aborigines) are Chinese. Same goes for all those ABCs, CBCs, BBCs, OBCs, & whatever.

lol... I am neither from China or Taiwan.
My grandparents donated their fortune to the KMT during the war years though. Think planes and bags of cash. How I wish I was a lucky recipient of such generosity. Oh well...
British is a nationality... It's possible the ethnic makeup of most white Americans are from the British Isles. But those with a ethnic language other than English, seem to take more pride in their origins. Say the Italians, Greeks, Irish, etc.
Don't forget your roots. If you are from Taiwan, you are still Chinese albeit with different political view.
I do however prefer living in Taiwan over China. Dealing with Mainland Chinese on the daily basis does get on my nerves
