Whats the K factor team meant for?

I am choosing a raquet this weekend so i can have it by next week for the school team. My question is what is the k team meant for? Baseline play, serve and volly? Doubles? Singles? Or is it meant to be an all around raquet.

I like the rds 001 and the nPro Open i am demoing and i also like the K factor 95. But the K factor 95 to me has too high of a sw and my old raquet was HH not Hl so since the k team is even maybe it would be easier to adjust to. My old raquet was a Hyper Hammer 4.0

were you able to demo this raquet? I am tempted to buy the raquet because i admit i am slightly partial to wilson as my first raquet from them was great. But i am hesitent for the same reason, i dont want to buy a raquet just because of the name, so i am demoing the raquets i have and making a fair evaluation. I got it down from 5 to 3 and maybe i can knock one off tommorow to get it down to two. The specs for the team seem right where i want them except for the stiffness. Do you know how differnt the feel of the k team is from the k 95 (16x18 ) thanks

Ryan just trust me stick w/ the rds 001 mp, you will not do any better. I have played with the K Team, very similar to the nPS which wasn't that great, just a little more powerful I don't like the even balance

that is one of the reasons i am thinking about it. I had a head heavy raquet and i thought going to an even would be less of a jump than going to a hl raquet. It helps me power in my serves better and i can really drive the ball harder with a hh raquet. With a hl raquet is seems more control oriented which is good but i would rather have a little power and a bit less control because according to my coach i placed the ball very well my old raquet.

just one question maybe you could answer

the stiffness of the k team is only 59, how does this fell compared to a raquet say with a 69 stiffness as far as feel and preformance?

i figured i should start a thread with the question i was interested in rather than ask it under a differnt title. That way people who may be able to help me will see what i am asking. Maybe you can help. The sw of the team is 10 points lighter than the k 95 what will the difference in feel be?

I haven't tried the (K) racquets. Supposedly the swingweight difference is not noticable at all, and that really the only difference is the feel of the racquet.

I thought that it was low powered and high control. Wilson definately is a great company, but all the racquet manufacturers that TW sells are good. You may be limiting yourself if you only stick to one company.

what will the lower stiffness result in?

Stiffer = more power, less spin
More flexible = less power, more spin

Of course there are a lot of other factors including where the racquet flexes the most, and where it flexes the least, but thats a general rule of thumb

has anyone heard any drawback of the k team? It would seem with a low swingweight, light raquet and a good amount of spin, this would be a great raquet. Has anyone heard anything negative about the team.

Also please tell me if i am wrong here?

Basically since the team is a light raquet and has a low sw and the string pattern is (18x20) it is suppose to be a good all around raquet?

also the reason i am asking is i can get a really good deal on any of the three raquets i am looking at.

I can get the k factor team for $152 shipped
Rds 001 mp for $130 shipped
n Pro Open for $135 shipped

they are all new i am just not sure which one is the best for me yet.

wish i could but the team start the 5th of march and i need to practice badly so i need to pick a raquet asap. I havent played in about 2 months because of work. Now since i realize how much i like the sport i quit my job, well i am only gonna work 1 day a week which is kinda like quiting and i am going to join my team at school. Thats why im trying to get as much info as possible to make the right choice.

its meant for the lower rated players that want a kfactor they can handle

dont neccesarily want a k factor unless it is a good raquet. I can handle the k 95 it just would take a good amount of time to get use to and a while in the gym to get my stamina up for the 3 seters with the heavy swingweight.

I am currently demoing the KFactor Tour 90 and the KFactor Team. I have also played quite a bit with the NTour Open. The NT Open is actually a bit heavier than the K Team. As a result, the NT Open gives more head feedback for better directional control without being too slow for reaction shots or at the net (the Bryan Bros. like it!). The K Team is a bit lighter, so is very quick at the net, yet perhaps because of the (K)arbon materials is pretty stiff and has good directional control and very good stability in spite of its quickness and light weight. For my money, I actually like the NT Open better because it is more solid overall and just a great all-around racket - it does everything very well. The K Team is less stable against hard hitters. I agree with "using the heaviest racket you can handle" in this case. If you can hit well with the NT Open I'd go with that. FWIW, I have also played a bit with the Wilson NPS. IMO the KFactor Team is a much better racket - a lot stiffer so a lot more pop and better control - no comparison.

I also agree with some of the earlier posts that the K Team is probably a great 'tweener racket for someone who wants to look like Federer without having the skills necessary to wield the Tour 90. Nevertheless, I was impressed with how solid and quick it was for its weight. It's a great racket for maybe a 2.5-3.5. I think a 3.5+ should be playing on at least an 11 oz. racket.

You guys crack me up with you theories on what a good player must use. As far as I am concerned a player should use whatever racquet they feel most comfortable with. For example, I am a 5.0 player and a teaching pro, but I tend to use lighter racquets...like the K team...because my arm and shoulder just cant take the pounding of using a 12 oz racquet anymore. Does that make me a lesser payer because I do not wield a heavy frame? I would like to think not.
