When is Fed coming back? If ever?…

I haven’t seen nor read any updates on his impending return. Why is he out? Will he come back for the grass season this year?

Retirement

It really looks that way.

I think the best we can hope for is that by that time, he decides he's gonna do one more season, but no promises as to how he's going to do or ho many tournaments he's going to play.

But it's equally likely he says "this is it guys"

The official answer from Roger is:

Doubles with Rafa aand Singles at LC

And OP, if you Google "Where is Federer returning" you'll get 1,400,000 results (literally). There's thousands of articles like this:

I want him to return as most of us here do.
But let's just put it this way.

When a pro player takes off, what, two years, (as Fed has essentially done)
even at the age of 25 or 28, they don't just snap back into their former state in a matter of weeks or months.
They may never recover their previous form.
They are stale and their bodies have aged two more years.

Now factor this in with someone who will be 41 years old in a few months.
And BE REALISTIC about it all.
And would you really like to see a 19-20 year old blast him off the court?

Wins Miami against a weak draw

Retires

there is no way that he retires with his final set at Wimbledon being a 0-6. Even if it takes until 2024 or 2025 he will not be satisfied until he’s won it again or reached the semis or final and gone down in a blaze of glory

People saying he can’t produce a high level at age 41, we have no way of definitely ruling that out. This guy is an alien, he could produce ridiculous stuff at 38 which sounds laughable if you hadn’t seen it. It is tougher and tougher to produce it 7 matches in a row but with the right draw anything is possible

Yes. Preferably a player from the WTA but ATP will do. Bagels please.

ALL THIS RIGHT HERE (above).

Dear Fed-devotee:

Go to Federer News to get updates / info.

Fed’s good friend Tommy Haas talked w Roger recently and he’s convinced Federer wants to taste it again and that he’s not coming back just to retire, but still believes he can compete.

Whether or not that’s true, Fed is a pioneer of doing what no one thought a tennis player could do.

So naysayers should consider who the oldest number 1 in history is and step off.

Who knows what he can do at 41, but I guarentee you who doesn’t know:

He should play exhibition matches against Roddick, Hewitt and Baghdatis to go out. It can be set in Greece too.
