When is Vika coming back??

Victoria Azrenka is the breath of fresh air the WTA needs. Also the only person who can consistently challenge Serena.

I know the last we heard was that she wasn't rushing to comeback and that it would be "soon"

Have we heard anything new? I dont see her coming back to defend her IW and Miami titles.
Clay is not her favorite surface. That makes me worried that she won't come back until grass season.

It will be nice to welcome back someone who keeps everything above board with her prescriptions...*ahem**side glance at Masha*

Well, we have Sharapova coming back in April. The women's tour does need to be shaken up cause Serena is making it look to easy winning these slams. The women better step it up.

Like sharapova would make that much of a difference:rolleyes:.....we still have yet to see her level without meldonium

Sit back and let's see. I don't know if she will ever be the same player. She started to decline when she was on meldonium. To me she needs to learn to have a plan B when she is going against Serena. Part of being a tennis player nowadays is not doing the same thing over and over again.

Masha may have not been able to beat Serena for a long time but at least made (most of the) the matches interesting. More than I can say about the current crop.

Kerber was able to beat serena in a slam final get to number 1 and win 2 slams. More than sharapova could do in any year of her career.
The current crop are just fine

Great, so no need for Vika then :)

And, Sharapova has been World No.1, won Slams (more than Kerber, at current count at least) and has beaten Serena in a Slam final, albeit long time ago. Maybe not exactly the same sequence as Kerber, agree.

We have to disagree on the current crop being 'fine', Serena excluded. They're incredibly inconsistent and mentally fragile. Very unfine, if you ask me. Just IMO; not looking to make an argument here; the thread is about Vika anyway. Hope she comes back healthy; she always seemed to get injured when it looked like she had a good run ahead of her.

Sharapova has nover won more than 1 slam in a year and never ended the year as number 1. That was my point.

Yes, agreed. But, IMO, she is still head and shoulders above anyone currently playing who isn't a Williams. Kerber might still change that

You sound like a 13 year old kid with no idea how adults work. Especially that comment about babies being boring work  She literally had a kid 6 weeks ago. You think she's been training at a professional level while she was pregnant? And can instantly recover from giving birth and bounce back to professional tennis in a few weeks? Like she gives a flip about Fed Cup over her newborn.

Sharapova has to just wait till 2017. Unlike Serena, she is not a grandma in tennis terms.

She has number of years left and is fully on her way to become the most beautiful and successful woman (success on court , off court - business and personal life ) after Graf to hold double digit majors

I hope this is a joke post. Pathetic if this is the real opinion of someone that calls themselves a tennis fan.

Never liked her but at least she made things a bit more interestin at the top. Right now a 50 year old Serena is sleepwalking to Slam titles playing with her left hand.
