I saw that NJIT, unaffiliated for tennis, since move from ATLSUN joined Southland this week. I wondered why they choose a conference of Texas/LA teams but then I read "NJIT men's and women's tennis programs will participate in the Southland's championship tournaments and will be eligible for the league's automatic berths to the NCAA Men's and Women's Tennis Tournaments. The Highlanders' tennis programs will not officially participate in the single round-robin league schedule during the regular season, and its teams shall be placed in the seeded tournament bracket through a process to be determined." I know some conferences dont play all team in conference-maybe have East/West but is this the first conference where one team might not play any of the other teams until the conference championships? Which conferences play all the teams and which play at least a division of teams or half the conference before championships? I know the Sunbelt has 7 teams, but most teams only play 4 other teams and some only play 2-3. Then there is the Summit League that is spread out, but it appears that they still do round robin.
