Who would win in the following hypothetical matchups. I try to pick players evenly matched:


Prime Graf vs prime Radwanksa- I would give Radwanksa the slight edge but it could go etiher way.

Prime Agassi vs prime Connors- Agassi I think has the edge

Prime Sampras vs prime Federer- Federer the very slight edge

Prime Nadal vs prime Borg- Nadal the edge on hard courts, Borg on real grass, even on clay

Prime Seles vs prime Navratilova- Navratilova on grass or carpet, Seles on rebound ace or clay, even on decoturf

Prime Graf vs prime Bartoli- Graf the slight edge but pretty close.

If Radwanska and Graf played right now at their current ages and playing abilities, I would still take Graf.

I think current Graf still beats any current WTA pro. You cant compare pre-90s tennis with today. Its too different. Prime Agassi with his composite racket probably beats Prime Connors with his aluminum racket but if you had Connors growing up and training with poly strings and graphite rackets, he would have been a monster. Same for Borg though I think he could pick up today's tech and be good right away. Borg and Nadal are pretty similar but Borg has a better serve and net game so I would take Borg.

I dont think Sampras could play as successfully today with the new strings. He just would not be able to dominate on serve and volley like he did. Guys get 60-70% first serves in these days and Pete was always around 50% I believe.
