The 80's generation produced more great players than any other decade imo, but man does it fall off after 1988. No player has won a slam under the age of 30 (it'll be 31 by the end of the month), and this has been a trend for years now. The closest anyone born after '88 has come to winning a slam was actually just last week when 23-year old Daniil Medvedev of Russia threw the kitchen sink at 33 yr old Nadal still to lose in an epic five setter. Nishikori and Raonic both got clobbered in the one final they played in, while Thiem has only taken one set off Nadal at RG despite playing him there 3/4 times already, with many of the sets being very lopsided in favor of the Spaniard.

Zverev has won the most Masters and a WTF but can't even make a semifinal at a major (he's only ever made 2 quarters and he got smoked both times); Medvedev had an amazing summer and is picked by many to break the U-30 drought very soon, but let's see if he can sustain this level of play before jumping to conclusions; Dimitrov has won a Masters and WTF but still hasn't played in a slam final; Khachenov showed a lot of promise near the end of last year by winning Bercy against Novak and pushing Rafa to the limit in NYC, but he's been very mediocre this year; Stefanos' rise to the top 10 was refreshing but he's completely burned out since clay season; Shapo and FAA have a ton of talent and potential but haven't achieved anything yet on tour (I'll add Rublev to this category as well); de Minaur, Coric, Chung, and Tiafoe have the right attitude but simply lack the talent to win big tier events imo; and NK is a the literal definition of a psycho headcase, who despite all his so-called "talent" hasn't won anything above a 500-level tourney (I don't think he's even been in the finals of a "big" tournament).

Just kinda curious who you guys think it is because I honestly have no clue since none of them are really all that "accomplished" in comparison to their top peers.
