They are fond of contact (sports) with other guys perhaps? Dunno. Never got into it myself. Prefer to engage in contact sports with the fairer sex.I don't get this. Is this a generational issue?

Some like to watch oiled-up men have an aggressive cuddle, but most don’t.
Both are the same for me.I assume you are referring to the scripted, performance art wrestling as opposed to the more serious "sport wrestling"
Fragile masculinity? Never thought about that really. And some like to completely miss the point of why it's good by being ridiculous and over-simplifying it bc of their fragile masculinity
Is tennis scripted? I want my money back.I do think the parallels work better in WWE to tennis than any other sport.
individual (for the most part) 1:1 matchups, storylines behind each match, and important matches with important athletes at multiple points in the year.
Like, top boxers and UFC fighters do maybe 4 fights every 5 years. WWE and tennis players do it more regularly.
That being said I can’t explain TTW’s particular obsession with it. I do know that r/squaredcircle on Reddit discussing WWE is one of the biggest sports forums on the entire internet so there are tons of fans online. I never was one but I also never watched it as a kid.

If Nadal was a wrestler, would you pay attention to tennis all the same?Wrestling is epic. It's like a live action movie with incredible athleticism, storylines, good vs evil, and at its best, unpredictability. I'm going to a WWE show in a cpl hours
If Nadal was a wrestler, would you pay attention to tennis all the same?
No one mentioned scripted but since you did and would like your money back...Is tennis scripted? I want my money back.
Everyone watched wrestling in the 90s. Entertainment hinges on charisma. Not talent. Look at the state of tennis. Talented players.I've had the same question, I don't really get it, I used to watch wrestling in the 90s when I was little, today I cannot bring myself to watch even only a match.
Must be something we Southamericans can't get.
Lot of us Norte Americanos don't get it either. As a young lad (50-60 yrs ago), many of us could not believe how much a lot the old guys would eat up scripted "faux" wresting -- insisted it was real. Some of my peers got into it ironicallyI've had the same question, I don't really get it, I used to watch wrestling in the 90s when I was little, today I cannot bring myself to watch even only a match.

I find it to be a very typical American (USA) show.@Sudacafan

Now that those old guys are gone and we are now the old guys, it appears at that faux, performance art, wrestling appeals to the younger generation up here more than anyone else.
I find this entertainment-style wresting be somewhat amusing & entertaining. But not to the point where I'd spend much much of my life on it.
It can be a polarizing activity here in 'merica. Many love it. Many hate it. Some are indifferent. Not unlike orange narcissistic political figures. Many here love 'em. But somewhat more hate 'emI find it to be a very typical American (USA) show.
Not sure. I am from the generation that was mad about WWE. And I don't get it either.I don't get this. Is this a generational issue?
Well, real wrestling usually seen during World Championships and Olympics isn't much fun just like Olympic Boxing but at least it's, uh, real. Both are the same for me.
As a cis male, I am going to say it is the wrestling fans who associate it with masculinity. I think masculinity has many dimensions. I like the Sean Connery /Pierce Brosnan vein of stylish masculinity rather than Arnold/Stallone. I think those who love the latter two would likely also be wrestling fans.Fragile masculinity? Never thought about that really.
Grandson walked into the room, saw Pro Wrestling, and stated "Actors!!!" Yes, he is/was taking acting workshops. He also slept through a live WWE showNot sure. I am from the generation that was mad about WWE. And I don't get it either.
This world wrestling federation title is a trinket on a Christmas tree, man. It's all about the IWGP title.

I remember some things about wrestling, some names and storylines beats here and there but the thing I remember the most was Tatanka betraying Lex Luger, I don't remember any detail, just that and it was shocking for little Fairhit.
Tatanka was accusing Lex Luger of having sold out to the Million Dollar Man, but Lex denied it, causing a rift in their friendship....until it was revealed that it was in fact Tatanka that had sold out to the Million Dollar Man, and betrayed his friend Lex, and he physically assaulted him.
-nah, not generational, it's more of a National "thang"I don't get this. Is this a generational issue?
Wrestling and telenovelas businesses would starve if they had to depend on me as an audience.-nah, not generational, it's more of a National "thang"
-Americans "luv" wrestling!!
-but if you go a bit south of USA you'd be lovin "telenovelas"
I like rugby, for instance. If you have a thing against contact sports in general, I wouldn't go along with that. I love boxing or at least used to up to the end of the Lennox Lewis era.
Not for everyone either, I can't stand those.-nah, not generational, it's more of a National "thang"

Futbol, that's all.Wrestling and telenovelas businesses would starve if they had to depend on me as an audience.
Outrageous and disgraceful.-Futbol is UNIVERSAL!!
-lets go BOCA!!
