Why are there so many TTW users who are fond of wrestling?

I do think the parallels work better in WWE to tennis than any other sport.

individual (for the most part) 1:1 matchups, storylines behind each match, and important matches with important athletes at multiple points in the year.

Like, top boxers and UFC fighters do maybe 4 fights every 5 years. WWE and tennis players do it more regularly.

That being said I can’t explain TTW’s particular obsession with it. I do know that r/squaredcircle on Reddit discussing WWE is one of the biggest sports forums on the entire internet so there are tons of fans online. I never was one but I also never watched it as a kid.

Is tennis scripted? I want my money back.

I assume you are referring to the scripted, performance art wrestling as opposed to the more serious "sport wrestling"

They are fond of contact (sports) with other guys perhaps? Dunno. Never got into it myself. Prefer to engage in contact sports with the fairer sex.

Im wrestling with the reason too here.
Perhaps a few arent such big tennis fans yet still gang around to get a word in here..

I've had the same question, I don't really get it, I used to watch wrestling in the 90s when I was little, today I cannot bring myself to watch even only a match.

Must be something we Southamericans can't get.

Everyone watched wrestling in the 90s. Entertainment hinges on charisma. Not talent. Look at the state of tennis. Talented players.

Lot of us Norte Americanos don't get it either. As a young lad (50-60 yrs ago), many of us could not believe how much a lot the old guys would eat up scripted "faux" wresting -- insisted it was real. Some of my peers got into it ironically

Now that those old guys are gone and we are now the old guys, it appears at that faux, performance art, wrestling appeals to the younger generation up here more than anyone else.

I find this entertainment-style wresting to be somewhat amusing & entertaining. But not to the point where I'd spend much much of my life on it.

I find it to be a very typical American (USA) show.

If you have a thing against contact sports in general, I wouldn't go along with that. I love boxing or at least used to up to the end of the Lennox Lewis era.

Fragile masculinity? Never thought about that really.
As a cis male, I am going to say it is the wrestling fans who associate it with masculinity. I think masculinity has many dimensions. I like the Sean Connery /Pierce Brosnan vein of stylish masculinity rather than Arnold/Stallone. I think those who love the latter two would likely also be wrestling fans.

I remember some things about wrestling, some names and storylines beats here and there but the thing I remember the most was Tatanka betraying Lex Luger, I don't remember any detail, just that and it was shocking for little Fairhit.

Tatanka was accusing Lex Luger of having sold out to the Million Dollar Man, but Lex denied it, causing a rift in their friendship....until it was revealed that it was in fact Tatanka that had sold out to the Million Dollar Man, and betrayed his friend Lex, and he physically assaulted him.

The good ol days. Recently went over that angle again on the podcast I was listening to.. Classic storyline back when WWF seemed to give a damn. Tatanka didn't wear the suit long enough. :p

I heard about the WWF winged eagle title man on that podcast. He left his mark. The winged eagle title will always be the title.

Can only imagine one of the stars of today saying they were bored. It's really funny to my because even if Hulk Hogan was bored, it still felt so much more exciting than present day. Wow, I really sound like such a hater. Booo me like you're booing Andy Murray, suckas. :p
