Why not more doubles on TV?

As some of you may have already mentioned, the women's final (like most WTA matches today) was a total bore fest. On the other hand the mens doubles final was outstanding with great rallies and spectacular shot making. My question is, why don't we see more doubles matches during grand slams on TV? The tennis is always entertaining and there's more strategy involved in it than in singles.

that's a bunch of bs. playing doubles is a lot more fun playing singles. they dont broadcast doubles because it doesn't bring as much publicity as singles does. the points are over too quick and there's not enough excitement. there's more hype over the players in singles and more drama between the singles players.

one problem is, that not the best players compete in the doubles. the best players on tour would usually own the double teams but concentrate instead on the singles tour.
that drops the standard, makes it less interesting...

and sorry, but doubles are often not that good...a lot of serving and not too much of returning.

I think the main reason is because unlike the Johny Mac or Narva times.. not many top singles pros play Doubles.. which I feel is tragic..

A lot of people find doubles boring to watch. The top players like Murray and Federer would totally own the top doubles players if you give them about a week or so to practice together.

b/c professional doubles players simply aren't good enough at tennis to play singles. look at the bryan brothers - great doubles players but don't move well enough or have enought weapons to compete at singles. doubles hides a lot of weaknesses in a players' game. viewers want to tune in to watch the best players in the game.

I love watching Davis Cup doubles, and when they occasionally show it on TV. I too would rather watch some quality ATP doubles matches then replays of some total WTA blowout with no excitement in it at all.
