Wide Pickleball shoes - FitVille

FYI … figured there were other wide-footed Pickleball players trying to solve their 4E needs.

Short version:

I just played for first time with x-wide (4E) FitVille pickkeball/tennis shoes, and they were very cushioned and comfortable. Think they will work great for pickleball and looks like first tennis shoe in a long time I won’t have to replace insoles. Legit 4E … like New Balance tennis shoes used to be. I can wear thorlo thick type socks without it being too tight. Pretty light … 13ish oz. They also have a 2E size.

Longer version:

I would have my doubts about the sole/outsole holding up in tennis on hard courts.

I solved my tennis 4E needs for several decades with New Balance 4E and replacing the insole with Sof Sole Airr Orthotic insoles. Heavy insoles … but feet were happy.

That ended when New Balance 4E quit being 4E … still said 4E but more like 2E. Since then a big challenge of finding 4E that works, and also trying to find lighter insoles that worked for me.

Long list of attempts … the most recent one being New Balance 608 cross trainer with my Sof Sole Airr Orthotics. I would never have played tennis in cross trainers… but seemed for my indoor doubles pickleball (pb court surface … not playing on wood basketball court) the 608 should be fine. And they were … for about a month. Recently my first Achilles soreness ever showed up. My guess is the lesser lateral support of a cross trainer vs a court shoe played a role … so back to needing a true 4E court shoe. Since I could never find true 4E tennis shoe with name brands … decided to try off brand FitVille (prime free return).

I think I got lucky … comfortable support, cheaper and looks like $30+ insole not needed. Of course I thought I was good to go with true 4E NB 608 at first also. I will update here after playing in them longer.

I bought 4 pairs of these a few months ago but haven't used them yet. Glad to read your positive review. The New Balance insoles are just embarrassingly bad. Thin little wafers.

Four? … sounds like when I bought a closet full of Costco “sport” shoes.
