Will Djokovic join Lendl in the Career Golden Masters?

Lendl is currently the only player who has won all of the Masters 1000 equivalent 'slots' (times of year these events are played). He achieved this in 1989 when he won the Stockholm event. Now Masters 1000 officially started the year after (in 1990) but his event wins could be viewed as equivalents. Djokovic has only Cincinatti to go to complete the set. Can he do it in 2016?

I don't think so this year.

Between Wimbledon, Davis Cup and the Olympics hes got a busy summer and (hopefully) a shot to get the CYGS at the USO if Wimbledon goes well. Probably won't go all out at Cincy and hence lose a fairly routine final to Murray like at Rome.

He's obviously capable of doing it in his career given he has made 5 finals there, so I would think he will get it in either 17 or 18, but there is a reason no one has ever won every tier 1 title (all majors, masters equivalents + WTF), so I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't.

Olympic Gold for Tennis will be decided on August 14th, and Cincinatti runs from August 13th to the 21st. Djokovic will be very tired, especially if he makes a run at the gold at the olympics

Well we can lock him into that Olympic final at the very least, so he may pull out of Cincy this year.
