Will string savers help extend Wilson Steam 99S string life??

I am tempted to buy a Wilson Steam 99S.
However, I am having second thoughts because most posters complain about how Steam 99S/105S break strings rapidly.

Questions:
These questions are for those who used string savers (specifically Babolat) with their Steam 99S/105S.

1. Did the string saver extend the life of your strings? How much?
2. Do the string savers stay in place. Don't they fall off?
3. Do the string savers increase or reduce spin generation?

I'm going to try string savers this weekend. I usually do not like how they play though. It stiffens the string bed which when I used to use gut was ok, on poly which I use now, not so good. Considering I am breaking 16g poly in 1-2 hours with the 99S, I'm giving string savers a shot before I ditch the racquet.

Consider the Blade98S then. Shouldn't spin as much but still a good lot. I find string savers on co-poly being a waste since the string has short live anyway, and the SteamS frames won't accept anything other than co-poly (except kevlar) to begin with.

If you are averse to restringing your racquet every 10 hours or less, Steam is not the racquet for you.

I just buy cheap polys and accept the fact that I have to restring it every 4 to 8 hours.
