i just had my first match today and won 6-2 6-2,he was a junkball type player and tried to get to the net.my problem is that i can hit tennis balls good and way more depth and such, now im not used to his style so that could of been why,or maybe being first match and i havent played outside much(live in illinois),idk.im using a new babolat pure storm and liked servin with it but like i said i felt no depth or power from it yet i do at practices,im not sure if i should switch back to my apdc or just stick with it. im thinkin ill try using it more tommorrow cause are next is a home match and it dont start for like an hour after school.but does anyone know what i can do to relax and get back to hitting better tennis.i feel like i might be swinging way to fast thinkin like i have to hit it or he'll get to it or hit it back harder.im not sure though.but whats some good stress relief tips as im playing?thanks

Junk-ball players, and or, players that give you very little pace are more difficult for some people to play against because they force you to create your own pace, out of nothing, and unless your court movement, timing and strokes are well-grooved, you will come off looking bad.

What can you do about it?

Practice. Practice until you can hit any shot thrown at you by any player with any style.

Knowing you can do that will give you confidence, and guess what? That will solve the other problem. With confidence you will be far less "tight" out there on the court.

6-2, 6-2 is nothing to be embarrassed about, perhaps you're being too hard on yourself?

Your grammer is in more need of work than your game.

The only way I can see to be comfortable against a junk baller is to become one,
and u don't want to do that.
So just tough it out, and keep winning 2,2 and be proud of the effort and patience you exhibited.

1) I think you should be more concerned with passing your English class than with tennis.
2) If you beat him 6-2 6-2, what's the question?

A controlled swing is important as you work on placement. Many players work on just power in the shot.

But someone said practice, practice, practice, however, this is kind of vague.

Your footwork and balance are paramount when playing a junkballer. Without well practiced footwork, you dont have a good foundation when the junkballer moves you around. This is what needs to be there more then anything.

Your strokes should work for placement and authority.
