Here is more proof that wrestling is real, I've already convinced heycal.

Your wasting your time. Arguing with Heycal is pointless. even when faced with loads of evidence against him he will still argue or say that he cant open that link even though everyone else can. Do what i did and put him on ignore. I guarantee your TT experience will improve if you do.

The wrestler was suppose to fall onto a stack of over 10 tables but ends up landing on the ring ropes instead. If he landed about a foot or two away from the ropes outside the ring he probably would have been surely dead. The ring ropes probably saved his life unless he landed through the stack of tables like he was suppose to do. Actually he did graze one of the tables but that was it.

What you are whining about, little pansy boy? Sore over losing some argument awhile back or something?

I normally have no trouble opening links, so you must have supplied a bad one for us in the past to have made that comment. I havent looked at these links since I'm not interested in them, or in trying to convince some high school kids that wrestling is not real.

S. Williams USO 2009 Semi...from a tennis fan... the worst in my book.

i'm sorry but that isnt that shocking. it was a semi final of a grand slam, players are human. the lineperson even admitted that what was rumored to be said wasnt actually said. that was no worse than anything mac did, no where.

I thought it was Stich, as far as I know. And no, if he's indeed Stich, his career didn't end after that-

the person who uploaded the video said so that's why I said. You're the one who speaks italian here go figure out what they're talking about!:p

It looks very serious though to be able to come back on tour and be at the top again. It's worth looking into who this mysterious unlucky player is.:)

i heard someone talk about wrestling, when i was a teen or like i dont know 10 years old in 1997 i believe the montreal screwjob happened, that was very unethical even in a "fake sport"

The Montreal Screwjob was nothing compared to this:

http://www.cnn.com/US/9905/24/wrestler.dies.04/index.html

And this comes from a Bret Hart fan.

Yes this once again proves that wrestling is real. I remember when this happened, Owen Hart fell 50 feet, landed on his head and died right there in the ring. It was a tragic end to a phenomenal wrestler. Here is a video that contains a few pictures of Owen Harts tragic fal and it also explains the trajectory of his fall.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YqIiJ1cGlE&feature=related

This second video is the day of his death where he did a pre match interview.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXWoYRErgW4

The third video is where the announcers Jim Ross and Jerry "the king" Lawler announce to the public that Owen Hart has died.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJuHvBTkmEg

Here is another video that explains his final moments. The video mentions that after he fell he tried to get up then just collapsed and died. It also mentioned that he actually fell 78 feet traveling approximately 50 mph to his death.

I was watching a basketball game not too long ago-don't know who was playing or even if it was college or professional-and there was a moment where a player was knocked down; and shortly after he fell a player from the other team stomped on his chest!!!! The first guy was not hurt.

In 1989, a major earthquake in San Francisco, California forced them to cancel a World Series Game. It happened with a packed stadium, so fortunately you didn't Candlestick Park collapsing.

It was very fortunate that there were not a lot of injuries/deaths during the game between the Oakland A's and the San Francisco Giants:

The Loma Prieta Earthquake. The Bay Area was exceptionally lucky on this one, since during the time of day that the main shock occurred, normally, roads would be packed with rush hour traffic and the death toll would've been enormous. However, fans from both sides of the bay were either in the stadium or already at home watching the game, resulting in fewer casualties. The geological community can't examine this quake without taking a collective sigh of relief.

If you're talking about the death of fans at sporting events, you can look at things like Heysel and Hillsborough.

At Hillsborough 96 fans died by being crushed, they were so tightly packed in that many died standing up whilst others got sucked under and were trampled on.

It happened a few months before I was born but even today, 20 years later a huge deal is made of it, especially around the anniversary of it each year.

Wrestling is real. Staged, yeah. Fake, yeah. But real.
The injuries are real. Pretty much ALL of them have been injured or SERIOUSLY injured at some point of their careers. Bret Hart had to retire because his body couldn't sustain any more punishment. Shawn Michaels had knee injuries, ankle injuries, broken ribs and more. Owen Hart fell 80 feet to his death. One guy, Joey Mercury, had his nose shattered with a ladder.

Is it staged? Yeah.
Is it fake? Yeah.

But it's real. Entertaining wrestling may have one of the highest injury ratios among all sports.

Despite being called fake, wrestling is very dangerous and sometimes the wrestlers suffer severe injuries. Sometimes they happen in a match and are reported accurately. Sometimes the wrestler enters a match knowing they will be taking some time off for an injury and the writers will come up with an angle where it appears that the wrestler suffered an injury at the hands of an opponent to create an angle for when the wrestler returns. Other times, there is no legitimate injury. A fake injury is created to develop a feud. This list will take a look at which wrestlers are currently sitting on the sidelines due to an injury and will reveal both the real reason and the storyline reason that the wrestler is not in the ring.
Since this site is non-spoiler, I will not be listing any injuries that occurred at a pre-taped event until either the show airs or if the promotion lets the story out on their website prior to airing the program. This policy will also hold true for returns to the ring. If the return is a non-publicized surprise during a pre-taped event, I will not mention the return until the program airs.

RAW Brand Wrestlers on the D.L.
Jamie Noble: On the November 2, 2009, edition of Monday Night RAW, Jamie "suffered severe neck and back injuries" at the hands of Sheamus. The injuries are all a part of a storyline that has led to Jamie announcing his retirement on wwe.com. It appears that his retirement is legitimate but it was not really caused by this incident.

SmackDown Brand Wrestlers on the D.L.
Edge: During a house show match against Jeff Hardy in July, Edge suffered a torn Achilles tendon. If that report is accurate then he probably won't return to the ring until at least early 2010.

Great Khali: In September, Kane injured Khali's knee by attacking him with the ring steps. While the storyline to excuse his absence from the ring is fake, the injury itself is not. The Great Khali has a history of knee problems and needed surgery. There is no timetable for his return to action.

Jim Ross: On October 29, Jim Ross suffered from an attack of Bell's Palsy. This is his third attack in 15 years. It is not known when he will return to the announcing table.

Rey Mysterio: Rey was taken out on a stretcher at Survivor Series 2009 following a brutal beating at the hands of Batista. There has been no update on his condition or announcement of when he will return. This beating was all a part of a storyline and might have been used as a way to get Rey off of TV while he is dealing with chronic knee issues.

ECW Wrestlers on the D.L.
Tiffany: In September, Tiffany suffered a broken arm while wrestling for the WWE developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling. The storyline excuse for her arm being in a cast and sling is that she was involved in an automobile accident.

TNA Wrestlers on the D.L.
Chris Sabin: On November 19, Pro Wrestling Guerilla, an independent promotion that Chris was scheduled to compete for, was told by TNA management that he "aggravated a neck injury at our TV tapings and the doctor is recommending that he take a couple of weeks (and maybe longer) off. He had first suffered the injury at our previous tapings and tweaked it at the tapings this week." The injury is legitimate and there is no timetable for his return.

Mick Foley: On the 11/12/09 edition of TNA:iMPACT!, Raven threw a ball of fire into the face of Mick Foley. Mick has first degree burns around his left eye. This "injury" is part of a storyline and there is no timetable for his return.

Raisha Saeed: During the 10/22/09 edition of TNA:iMPACT!, Raesha was power bombed off the top of the ramp through some tables by Awesome Kong. Raesha was take out on a stretcher with "multiple injuries". It is not known when she will return to action. Raisha also performs under the name of Alissa Flash and that character is not injured.

http://prowrestling.about.com/od/whatsrealwhatsfake/a/wrestlingdl.htm

Stone Cold Steve Austin, just to quote a familiar name, broke his neck in a careless piledriver.

"During the match (Owen) Hart botched a piledriver and dropped Austin on his head, resulting in a legitimate broken neck for Austin and temporary paralysis. As Hart baited the audience, Austin managed to crawl and pin Hart using a roll-up to win the Intercontinental Championship. A visibly injured and dazed Austin was helped to his feet by a number of referees and led to the back. Due to the severity of his neck injury, Austin was forced to relinquish the Intercontinental title"

He needed surgery, after that. I think I may be able to find a video of the piledriver:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQoJRYHuWSY

He talks about that incident here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5tB2XCsbNc&NR=1

Speaking of the Joey Murcury incident, here it is. The ladder hit his face so hard that blood was pooring all over the mat outside the ring. It happened at the WWE 2006 Armageddon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kCuxxcNk4A

"Mercury suffered a legitimate injury when he was struck in the face with a ladder, breaking his nose. He immediately left the match and was rushed to an emergency room where he received five stitches to the inside of his nose and fifteen to the outside."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Birch#World_Wrestling_Entertainment_.282004.E2.80.932007.29

Also speaking of the Sheamus "the celtic warrior" incident where he ended Jamie Nobles career with a bone crushing powerbomb outside the ring. After the powerbomb Jamie Noble was out for 2-3 weeks with severe back pain, he ended up retiring shortly afterwards due to his injuries. The powerbomb is around 4:30 into the match, trust me the powerbomb was brutal.

Firstly, Wrestling, as a SPORT, is FAKE. Its scripted, they know who is going to win before the game, and they plan all the big moves. HOWEVER, as a display of athletic skill, its definatley not fake, these guys are world class athletes and are amazing at the gymnastic nature of the sport, it takes a lot of practice to be able to pull off a wrestling match safely, all it would take is one simple move and you land on your neck... gone.

Most shocking incident? I thought of Sele's stabbing, but thats not really part of the sport, that was a psycho fan, most shocking as in most unsportsmanlike, that underarm incident was disgusting.

Yes, it's fake. Everyone knows this but quest01. He seems to think that since people can get hurt in these fake "sports' events, it somehow makes them real.

Man the pacers pistons clip is unbelievable. Those fans are all thugs. Funny how these guys thought they could take on nba players. Its sad but also comical in a sense.

Plenty of blame to go around here. This would be a great piece for a psych 101 text.

Detroit....I'll make sure to never visit there. Even when their coach came on the mic they booed.

This goes back aways and I'm too lazy to look up the date, but in the 1970's sometime during an NBA game Kermit Washington slugged Rudy Tomjanovich massively hard, caved in his face and Rudy T. nearly died. Much was said about how Washington just reacted, while in a fight with another player, to peripheral vision of a player in the "wrong" uniform running toward him (supposedly to try to break up the fight) by turning and plowing him. Not long after that Kareem Jabbar did a similar thing to Kent Benson, only more purposeful--thought Benson was elbowing/pushing too much and slugged him and broke his jaw. Benson didn't have much of a career after that. Maybe he wouldn't have anyway.
