Yonex VCORE Pro Line - 2020 Update

Recently been enjoying the VCORE Pro HD and considering pulling the trigger on a few frames but was curious if I should anticipate a 2020 iteration of the HD version?

FWIW I would be switching from the Wilson Blade 98 v7 18 x 20. Similar frames I know but I enjoyed the slightly lower SW on the VCORE Pro HD / HL balance. The VCORE Pro HD feels more whippy and I'm not having any power issues when comparing to the Blade.

Also, I've tried adding a few grams of tungsten to the handle of the Blade to change the balance and unfortunately my arm didn't like the extra weight.

Interested as well but the line is pretty new specifically the HD right.

I also loved the ball pocketing and feel of the Blade, and loved the stability it seemed it had. But I can't buy Wilson due to quality control, its like buying a random racket!

Does the HD feel torsion-ally stable enough? Does it have as much power as the blade?

From what I can tell they were released last summer? I haven't played w/ Yonex for years so I'm a little out of the loop.

I'm right there with you on the Wilson QC. I did not buck up for matched sticks and I may be regretting it.

So far the HD feels stable enough - I think the VCORE is just a touch under powered compared to the Blade. Probably because of the stiffness, SW, and balance but I've only really noticed it on serve.

You realize it just launched last year, right? Hasn't even been a full year yet I think. We're anticipating an update this year for the VCore line, not the VCore Pro line.

97HD is very stable. Blade probably has a little bit more easy power, but I've never felt like the 97HD is lacking in this regard. Have cracked plenty of forehands with it.

Interesting regarding power. TW reviews rate the HD having slightly more power than the Blade v7 18x20 (and 16x19 for the matter). Also, a forum member had posted a comment from Troy stating the HD had more power than the Blades v7 for sure.

I'm considering making the same exact swap since I need sub 63 RA and have the HD coming in on demo. I'm used to having more head light frames and that's my only gripe with the blade (QC aside). How do they compare spin wise and feel wise?

They are definitely fairly close in terms of power. I think I would need to play around with strings in order to get a more accurate assessment of the HD.

My biggest gripe with the Blade is the balance for sure, could be a QC issue or could be that I'm more comfortable with a HL frame as well. I found more access to spin with the HD, especially on crosscourt FH and 1HB. I'd say both frames are closely matches in terms of feel, HD might be more agile at net due to balance.

Frankly at my level the difference between the two seems marginal if anything. I wonder if I will get used to the more even balance w/ the blade in time?

My concept of time must have shifted due to covid...
Yep, hours feel like days and weeks feel like months in lockdown, even the stage three we in Melbourne - not the rest of Oz - are now under; apparently no one told the security guards that were supposed to be keeping returned travelers in mandatory quarantine that they weren't supposed to ride in lifts with them, let alone sleep with them! LOL!! o_O:-D:cry:
