Your preference: high quality match with no drama or ok quality match with some drama?

Which kind of matches do you enjoy more?

For example (Sinner vs. Alcaraz) in Wimbledon was a high quality match but there was really no drama whatsoever, on the other hand, (Tsitsipas vs. Kyrgios) was dramatic but the quality was just ok, certainly not as high as it was in the other one.

Discuss.

Certainly option 1 but the match should be having some crazy battles like djokodal which is basically option 1 as drama is created only by the level of play but I guess matching that level of play is too far fetched for any set of players so it’s easier to have option 2 and enjoy it more

I'm not entirely sure that I agree with your examples. There was plenty wrong with the high-quality match you named, and the dramatic one for a good few sets was pretty fantastic.

Also, when making this comparison, Tsitsipas and Kyrgios is not the kind of thing I would hold up as an exemplar of the dramatic, because that kind of match is a very great rarity in tennis, and they are always awesome when they happen. The 2020 US Open final was DRAMATIC, so was this years Australian one, etc.

Anyway, in general, I'd go with the high quality, but the deeper into a tournament that you get the easier it is to stomach mediocre tennis saved by moments of mad drama.

Depends if I have a rooting interest or not. Did I enjoy Rafa's thrashing Ruud or eeking past Med more? Hmmm I definitely enjoyed his win against Med more afterwards, as I still watch highlights and sometimes even pieces of the match every week or so. As it was going on, me and I'm sure every Nadal fam member was a wreck.
