I like that color, but I don't like Kyrgios. Hmm... If they get released here and there's nothing about Kyrgios on the stick maybe I'd get one. Or I'd tape over it out of spite.

And yeah why should Kyrgios get one? Rafa never got a signature or special edition stick, right? (the RG ones don't count). Give one to Stan the man for sure.

That is a GREAT idea!
Actually the idea is common in Japan.
There are several Japanese exclusive special rackets which is almost exactly similar to pro player frames.
Wilson made nishkori racket a few years ago and now I am seeing Bryan brother prince rackets.
Yonex should make 95D mold stan's special edition racket with special softbag which is made by French open shorts material plus key chains and some Stan the man shirts. This special package will sell better than Kyrgios racket.

To me it just looks like one of the old Wilson Kobra paintjobs that Tsonga used.

I like @kimguroo idea - would love to see the classy racquet paintjob they would create in a Wawrinka signature model that would suit more his personal style.

I was talking to a guy (very nice guy, btw) from Yonex a couple of weeks ago and we talked about this "new" dr 98.

According to him, this is because there aren't many ATP players using the DR models (Coric began using them recently for this reason), while many WTA players use them.

So, the green, yellow and grey racquets started to be associated to girls, and many recreational men players (specialy from asia) steped aside from them.

Apparently, only Yonex didnt know that Kyrgios isnt the greatest endorser of the world.

My understanding from Yonex is: just a cosmetic change and not an autograph racket. Available retail late Oct 2016.
This seems to be correct. Yonex has them up on their site now. No changes other than the blue cosmetic, offered for both the 98 and 100. Maybe I'll snag one another dr98 in the new colorway somewhere down the line.

This is like when Yonex made the "Dark Grey" Yonex RQ 180 for Pat Cash as opposed to Martina's "Ivory". Yonex makes such amazing product, I just wish they weren't so "technology" focused and would release a "legacy frame" even with updates yearly. RD-7, Super RD-Tour anyone :(

Probably the same with the white R-22.

The Ezone's are becoming more and more popular with guys. Ana Ivanovic was what sold the AI's and before her Maria Kirileko sold the Xi's...
Nick Kyrigos is good publicity if you believe all publicity is good publicity.
Look on the Yonex page to see how many players are endorsing their products. Look at the prince page. I never thought I'd see the day.

Yes
Yonex is investing hard on tennis, while Prince looks like will close soon..

really sad, I was a big fan of Ferrero's racquet

seems like Yonex realized they have a very good product, no need to update it with more tech upgrades...they just changed the colors for those that may like an upgrade after 2 years. Fischer used to do that with the vacuum pro/pro one. let the buyer determine wether the new colours mean that much to them or not and then let the product speak for itself-the marketing does it own thing. Respect for the brand. kudos.
