New Prestige Touch "Tour" --- 305g 18x19

I hit with a pre-release one yesterday. I think it is a great racket for a 3.5 4.0 kind of player.

It's comfortable, easy to swing, handles pace, has a nice combination of control and non-wimpiness.

I like the well-balanced polarity of it. It swings and hits smooth. I think the Touch line has better comfort than the XT but not too muted like the Graphene Prestiges.

My only real beef is that 18 mains goes better with 20 crosses if you are a power hitter, and I found myself wanting more while going for winners.

But for someone whose primary goal is to hit serviceable spin and power without having to hammer everything around themselves, it really does the job well. It felt very consistent without having to get pushed around all day in the process.

It reminded me of that DC 305 98 with the 18x19 pattern, except more comfortable and solid against pace.

I didn't try the other Prestiges yet, but this one seems like a step in the right direction for a line that has been stumbling around for a while now.

I really like this.

To those who say it's too lightweight, it's still 10g heavier that a Radical mp, which is more than decent to play at pretty much any level. And don't worry, the MP and the Pro are still in the lineup.

What is defined as a 'tour' racquet seems to have lost half an ounce or fifteen grams over the last five years or so.

The raucous minority that supported Federer's choice of a mid have been stilled and most accept the new order.

The question is, will it still have the weak throat if you add weight to the hoop and handle. The Rev Pro for instance, would've been great if there was some strength there. I'm sure it'll be the same.

Weak throat? Impossible! Graphene is the strongest material in the Universe. You have to be a Transformer to break it. ;)

They are long ago in our local shop - unfortunately, not for demo, just to be observed and adored.

My question is when are they releasing the Prestige. And why aren’t the xt on sale if the release is close ?
They were on sale during tw's happy hour earlier today. I think 150 or so. Too late now though. Will be interesting to see if the prestige touch tour is any good.

This is no prestige, it's the capped radical we've always dreamed of. 18x19 nice, I guess Head is listening to the customer or random coincidence. It's a customizing dream must weight like 285ish without caps?

Lol, I would say "random coincidence." If the Graphene process isn't too bad on it (all the weight at the poles and weak throat) then it may be pretty fun. But Head is the master of disguise - awesome looks, horrible play.

Seems that GXT is fun for better players than me... So I am ready to admit that Head are doing a terrific job for 5.0 and above players.

I can't tell if you have a real dry sense of humor, or if your serious about Head doing a great job.

Wilson seems to be offering its market 'nostalgia racquets', whereas Head is not.

If you are over the rants of the traditionalists, Head is still producing good racquets.

^^^Length is certainly a problem. Usually just throwing it over my shoulder works, but the sheer mass is hard to deal with lol

I have had a short hit with the tour-frame. It´s really nice in stock version. First i tried the new Radical MP and then the new Prestige Tour straight after and the prestige felt like butter in the flex compared to Radical. I really enjoyed the tour frame. Very easy to play with and nice sweetspot. Solid for its light weight. Good control, easy to hit with confidence.

I will try and get a couple when they are released and mod it a bit. Silicone and lead ofcourse. With a 325 gram weight i guess this frame will be a gem!
