Strong era GOAT needs all the help he can get vs semi-retired weak era MUG, no?

So, let's see if I've got this right...

First, VB were deathly afraid that Djokovic would be in Nadal's half of the draw, but as usual, he landed in Federer's, so now he's still injured and never was a threat to begin with.

Then, they were hoping for Del Potro to be as far away from Rafa as possible. Mission accomplished, he's on Fed's side too. So now, suddenly, he's injured again and a mental midget. Lucky Federer, always getting the easy draw.

On the other hand, Nadal is going to get royally screwed again because, as usual, he'll play his SF after Federer, you'll see (in real life, facts show that it is actually the opposite most of the time, but like fellow Rafa-fan Donald T, VB have been dealing in BS and fake news for so long that they've managed to convince themselves that they're telling the truth). Lo and behold, Nadal gets the first SF, though. That's okay, let's shift the narrative again--now, suddenly, who gets the first or second semi makes absolutely no difference on the final result. Well done.

Now, they're down to praying that Wawrinka will withdraw so that Kyrgios gets shifted to the bottom half of the draw, because you know, Nick is too much of a danger, he won all of *two* slam matches in 2017. (I hope he does, btw, as this won't change a thing and will just make the whole situation even more silly.) And the narrative has shifted again, as the worst dark horse in the draw has now become... Isner, for no other reason that he landed somewhere in Rafa's part of the draw (even though he'll be out before he plays Nadal).

Got to feel for VB, though. They're shaking in their boots because:
- Nadal hasn't been able to beat either Federer or Djokovic for ages when they're healthy. So VB basically want their fav to become the best... by avoiding all the top players, because that's what real warriors do. Easier said than done, which means some serious voodoo is in order (never fear, though, the tennis honchos are also playing the same hand; gotta make that slam race competitive, after all).
- They can see the writing on the wall; #20 is coming, and coming fast.

So, let's get this done. Let Stan withdraw so that Nick joins the fun in the bottom half (could they also do some magic for Dimitrov to switch sides, too? Or maybe he could withdraw because of family issues, or something like that). And let the hunt for #20 begin with a real draw. :)

"Nadal hasn't been able to beat either Federer or Djokovic for ages when they're healthy." Was Djokovic "injured" during the 2017 Madrid event? Was Novak injured during the US Open 2013? Was Federer injured during the Australian Open 2014? Please find another excuse, dear Nadal hater.

Honestly I won't criticize VamosBrigade for being obnoxious if Nadal wins the AO because all of this stuff directed at them and Nadal since he became #1 again is begging for a response.

The No 1 player can make do with at least some decent draws right ? Two cupcake draws in a row ?

And his fans want Kyrgios now to move to bottom half of draw and Stan to withdraw from tournament

You can't expect the world #1 to play dangerous opponents straight away. The only guy who consistently beat Nadal in the last year or so was guaranteed to be in the other half of the draw. Right now Rafa is the favorite against anyone else.

USO wasn't a cupcake draw at the beginning, it "just" turned into an evaporated one as the tournament progressed. Let's wait and see for this one, the second week could be tricky for Nadal too.

Well yeah but there's being the favourite and there's facing opponents who haven't got a prayer against you. It really does seem that almost systematically all potentially dangerous players got moved to one side leaving only Dimitrov and Kyrgios (and only one of them) on the other as potential SF threats to the top seed, given that both guys are flaky as hell (especially Kyrgios who might decide to tank a match because he's in the mood to play video games) that's about as easy of a road to the final as it gets.

Add to that that this AO was preceded by 2017 USO (which I agree was a tough draw that evaporated but boy did it evaporate), that Nadal even has an extra day of rest this time around and that Nadal fans still insist this is a tough draw (and that Fed is the establishment favourite against poor oppressed humble warrior Rafa) and you get some fun times. Let's hope poor TW servers somehow get through this.

No doubt that recently Nadal got luckier than the rest of the Big 3 and pretty much every other top player. I just think he's had to deal with some very hard roads in the past as well so while Nadal fans shouldn't find hard admitting he was lucky now, Federer fans don't need to make it sound like he's been served titles by someone else regularly either.

Don't count on it when the servers have managed to be slow a couple of times during the off season.

After read OP’s post, you realize that once again, the draw is lopsidedly in favor of Nadal. If two players lose early in Nadal’s section (Isner and Cilic), Nadal will have a challenger like draw to the SFs just like at the USO. Both Isner and Cilic could lose early.

Meanwhile, there are so many good players in Federer’s half that even if a few players get upset, he’ll STILL have to face tough opponents because not all of them will lose early.

Pretty disgusting, really.

But they have constantly been pushing the narrative that Federer has had it easy and it's Nadal who has had to battle through sheer adversity when it's not even close to being true.

No doubt he's had some tough roads in the past, but so have all the other top players. And Nadal receiving favorable draws is not something that is just happening now. Remember USO 2010 and 2013: joke SF opponents both times, while Djokovic had to battle past Federer and Wawrinka.

Sorry, what is not even close to being true?

That is 3 weak draws compared to 16 Slams, with some of them looking decent but evaporating with time. They probably stand out more because they were all at the USO but still it's not much worse if at all than any other player around his level of accomplishments.
