I used automobile touch up paint. It has the primer mixed in with the paint, so you don't need to worry about applying that first. You will probably have to do a couple coats to get it to the same thickness.

I know Smy has said earlier (when he was with Dunlop) that he changed to a 27.5 Inch length. So it’s very propable that his UT/H19 is extended length as well.

Setup Update: played some hard hitting opponents and noticed a lack of stability. So went up on weight, sw (and tw) by adding another 4 gr @3&9 and leaving 2gr @12.
New specs 357 gr, 31,5 bal, 336 sw. Played doubles today and was impressed. Kind of an easier to play rf97. Softer, more precise, less spin, less power (but very powerfull by itself). Will see how it goes but first test was very promising.

If you can order an automotive touch up of the BMW colorcode 263 (Dunkelblau) you will get exactly the same dark blue color of the Ultra Tour 97 frame
I figured this out since I had some serious damages to the paint layer of my UT 97 after my stringer had strung my racket ''roughly'' and the visual damages were not acceptable for me...

The guy I bought it from, told me it was 309 unstrung (didn't measure it myself). Changed the grip to leather (volkl), adding about 13gr. Taking into account the total added weight of 6gr @3,9,12 and the 8gr of overgrip+dmpnr, that means that rs lyon added another 21gr! Can that be so? If not, it might as well be even heavier stock!

This racquet is definitely low powered compared to the Blade 2015 Blade 98 18x20. I guess I need to string this even lower than my normal 48lbs on the Blade to get more oomph on it. However, this racquet has better maneuverability than my Blade so kinda a toss up I guess.
Overall, I love the paintjob and probably needs some tweaking to get this dialed in.

The inherent 'Tyranny of Distance' creates certain ironies that are far less evident in the 'Old/New Worlds'; the unremarkable to you but, to me, exotic paint you mentioned is available on the Aussie version of the bay for $30 AU, or $44 AU with 'clear'. Knowing Australian BMW dealers the cost of obtaining the genuine item through the proper channels would probably be more than the replacement cost of the racquet itself.Apologies accepted

That’s why I have both in my bag. If I’m hitting with guys who are younger and more mobile, I will tend to pull out the blade because I can hit through the court more. When I’m playing someone who doesn’t have enough weapons to hurt me or players who don’t move especially well, I pull out the ultra tour because I can control the points and rallies with sharper angles that they just aren’t fast enough to get to.

Honestly, I was nervous stringing mine at 45 because I had never strung a racquet that low before. It didn't truly hit it's sweet spot until a week or two in after the string settled. I'm going to guess by that time it had lost anotther 2 to 5 pounds in tension. That being said, I probably wouldn't string it too much lower than 42 with using the Cyclone 18L I've been using.... until I read about someone else raving how great it is strung in the 30's that is! lol

I'm going to try 4G and gut at 45. I love the feel of this racquet but need a little more passing power and a little more curve to my forehand. I just happen to have a 4G/VS set lying around..

Where and how much tape did you add? I think they all say v2.0 but I could be wrong.
My first ones paint was terrible but the one I just bought seems fine. I spent last night stripping the light blue parts off by using masking tape to pull it off. It’s not perfect but it looks pretty cool without the light blue strip. Saw someone else here do this.

I do the same! These are my to go Rackets. If Wilson could put the best of these together in one Racket, it will be a near perfect Frame for me.
I saw in another Threat, that you were playing also the DR 98 Light!? Can you say me why? Only because of tuning Options? Or different RA? I ask because i want to test a DR 98 for a few Students from me that are playing now the DR100. But they improved over the time, and now i want a smaller head and flexier DR98 for them. Also i am not sure which Gripsize. I tend to Grip 2, cause i think its a good Racket for brushing the Ball more with a little Windshield Wiper. You think Dr98 is a good Idea for 3-5- 4.0 players?

I use DR98 Light.
Don't think twice, get em' while you can. It's a great racket for just about anyone looking to play the controlled spin game in comfort. With some lead 285g version could be just about anything in terms of weight and balance - takes weight like a champ. This thing can be played at any level of the game.
The only people I would not recommend DR98 to is someone with very flat, classic type strokes or someone who needs free power over control.

Hate to do this to you, but at the price green DR98 Lights have been clearing out, everyone should have one in their bag along with some spare lead to mess around with.
Thats my story and I'm stricking with it. And oh yea, since we are in Ultra Tour thread - nothing beats UT's silky smooth feel, not even a pair of DR98 Lights

Just got a too good to pass up deal on a new Ultra Tour and just wondering if anyone has gone full gut in this frame? I have some 16g Wilson Natural (the previous generation) and was thinking about throwing in a set around 60-63lbs. Wondering if this would make the UT feel mushy and be a waste of good gut or if this (and some lead) could finally get me what I am looking for?
Always preferred smaller headed rackets, heavier racquets (Head TXE, PS 85’s, iprestige mid) and haven’t really loved the RF97, ProStaff or Blades.

I really don't think that's a good idea - UT has some flat punch and is begging for spin. 16g natural gut at high tension will just make it play really flat without any comfort upside.
54lbs natural gut with 17g 52lbs co-poly came out great for me. (constant pull machine)

I have some Pro Hurricane Tour and some ALU Power Rough that I could try for that.
Was thinking thank maybe full bed would give me some extra dwell time and pocketing. I find the Wilson Gut does a better job of that at 60+ and is still comfy. I may have to convince my wife to let me buy another one to test them out side by side. Perhaps she would accept that this as purely a way to contribute to this forum and not in any way to satisfy my selfish tennis desires!

Nothing cold about that... he answered my question for me! I'm still trying to figure the rules of hybrid strings out. It sounds like if you're using gut/poly, the gut always goes in the mains. That doesn't seem to apply if you are using syngut/poly or multi/poly where it seems like common practice to be able to flip flop them if you don't like the feel of the string bed. multi/syngut in the mains for softer feel, or poly in the mains for more spin and a firmer feel. Did I get all that right now? lol
