Current racket:
Yonex Ezone DR98 310g
Solinco Hyper G 1.25 / 23kg, with Wilson overgrip and Yonex dampener, total weight 340g.
Just got the new:
Yonex Vcore 95 310g
Solinco Hyper G 1.25 / 23kg, with Wilson overgrip and Yonex dampener, total weight 338g.
My thoughts are, that these are almost similar playing rackets as the specs suggest. I first was skeptical about buying a 95 head size racket and was between ordering Vcore 95 and 98. I prefer head light balance and low RA, so decided to go with 95 and head size was only slightly smaller than 98. Played 1.5 hours last night.
Control: Vcore 95 has slightly more control and maneuverability than DR98
Spin: Same spin level, maybe a bit more with Vcore 95
Power: Same power level on groundstrokes and volleys.
Serving: Vcore 95 felt really great on serves and offered slightly more power, control, spin, than DR98
Feel: I enjoy DR98 muted and arm friendly feeling and my opinion is, that Vcore 95 is almost as comfortable as DR98. Biggest difference is, that Vcore is more traditional players frame, with a thinner beam, so it gives more response when hitting the ball. RA level is at the same low level as DR98
Overall: Vcore 95 is a great racket, which offers more control, than DR98 with almost the same playing characteristics. The biggest positive difference was on slices and touch shots, I felt more connected to the ball. DR98 is my choice of racket, but Vcore 95 comes very close. I am going to play more in coming days against different players, but nice to have two rackets in my bag.
