Kerber uses Fire 1.2 in the crosses and just won another Major with it. Until recently Herbert was using Fire in the mains, now he switched to Strike 1.2 mains and just won the French Open doubles with it. (With help from Mahut of course!)
So I think Fire is worthy of a trial :)

Meh where are the full bed users :)

I need proof that it’s ATP co-signed!

Just tried the new VCORE 95, 98 and 100. Out of the three frames i actually liked the 95 the most. Very solid frame with good control and stability. 2nd was 100 but with the combination of a leathergrip and polytour strike at (for me) high tension made it feel pretty stiff. I normaly use Ezone 100 with head hawk touch at 48 lbs and the ezone 100 feels much more well-dampend and little bit larger sweetspot compared to VCORE. (Its good to know though, that on my Ezone i have the original syntethic grip and two yonex supergrap overgrips, on the VCORE 100 i have yonex leathergrip with one yonex supergrap)The Vcore also felt less solid in the upper part of the frame compared to Ezone. I presume though, that if i do exactly same set-up at both ezone and vcore 100, they will feel pretty similar. Will let you guys know when i have same set-up on both. It will take a week or two though becase i dont want to cut out a fresh strung set of strings.

The 98 version felt a little bit less stable and solid compared to both 95 and 100 version but still a nice frame.

Still waiting for your review / views on the vcore 100, you bought a few recently? @Hankenstein :)

Could you please compare the speed pro with the vcore 98?

I have both. The speed pro has a tighter string pattern. I strung both with gut / poly. The VCORE 98 at 53/49, the speed pro at 52/50, both with Vs team and Poly tour pro 120 (my go-to setup).

Strung that way, the VCORE has more power, a higher launch angle, and more spin.

The speed pro is slightly under powered for me at that tension. This is due to the tighter string pattern and also its headlight configuration. The swing weight it just under 320. This obviously can easily be fixed.

Both are comfortable. Despite its much lower RA, the speed pro is close in feel, again due to the tight string pattern. I prefer the head grip shape to the Yonex, obviously that’s personal preference.

I’m going to restring the speed pro looser, I suspect it’ll turn it I to a great doubles racquet. We’ll see.

@Hydra1995, I echo a lot of what @alexg says, minus the similarity in comfort and preference for grip shape. I don't know if you are looking for a Graphene comparison, but that is the one I used. It is a lot firmer and stiffer than the VC98. More control, lower launch angle, and less spin from the GSP.

Brief Review For VCORE 95
Strings: Volkl Cyclone Tour 18g.
Tension: 45 lbs.
NTRP Rating: 4.0-4.5.
Hitting Session Duration: 1.5 hours.
Observations:
  • Ground strokes: It felt amazing. It did not feel like a 95 inch frame at all, but that could be my experience with a PC600. I was hitting off-center shots by the end of the practice and it was forgiving. It felt pretty light, and I'm curious to see what happens when I face a hard, flat hitter as opposed to the loopy shots I faced last night.
  • Volleys: Very good touch, I was putting it wherever I wanted with ease. Rarely faced a hard flat shot though, so again I'll be curious to see what happens with stability when I eventually face that type of hitter. Maneuverability was easy of course.
  • Serves: Didn't get to serve, it was just a pure hitting and drill session. Overheads felt great though, my power wasn't muffled nor was it uncontrollable.
  • Comfort: No issues today. The real test will be back to back days. But usually I feel soreness and slight pain immediately in the beginning of the week after hitting with my Babalot Pure Drive Tour Plus, can't wait to sell that thing.
  • Overall: I need to wait for the honeymoon stage to end and face a variety of hitters, but I've tested rackets that I hated from the beginning, so that's a plus.

EDIT: No idea why the imgur link won't work, I tried using the image button here but no dice.

You're a wizard, Harry. Thanks! For future reference, how do I embed images?

It looks like you did the right thing, i'm not sure why I did not work.. I usually select a link which has the picture extension like *.jpg.. in your options on the right select copy link for message boards, or direct picture link, in this case https://i.imgur.com/xoJhfi3.jpg
I just copied the link in a browser, your lovely pic came up, I right clicked it and opened ' open image in new tab' then copied the link in the browser and replied here...

I skipped the review, but this guy moves quite well while wearing that knee brace! As for the VC100 vs VC98, it's a matter of power. I play with a racquet that is as powerful as I can control. A 100 is just too powerful for me to use as I am not a real heavy topspin player. My topspin averages around 1.5-1.8k rpm. A 98 is a little bit more "precise" and almost as powerful.
I must say that string is surprising. It seemed like I was getting even more spin that Cyclone 18L, if you can believe that. Feel off the string bed was really nice, greater sensation of ball pocketing and feel. I can see why @Sardines enjoys Cyclone 18L / PTF hybrid, I might even try that myself.
I switched to the Tecnifibre Pro Red Code Wax 18g (1.20mm), a similarly slick string which is almost 40% less than and plays very similarly. I'd played with PTF and PRCW on the same racquet restrung, so my previous judgement was a little off. When I strung 2 racquets with each as a cross and Cyclone 18L as mains @ the same tensions, the nuanced differences were only noticeable, when I was looking for it.

Looks like you added with a leather grip. I'm assuming that made it 9 points HL, if you didn't add weight elsewhere.

Do you think the 95 plays well without customization? Is the power too low to hit winners? I demoed the prince textreme tour 95 and it felt great but low powered at stock specs. Thanks!

Thanks! How was the swing, control and power compared to dr98? When I demoed vcore98, couldn't get the control that was needed for my game.

Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk

What do you mean by swing? It's as maneuverable as the DR98.

Less control, more power. DR98 was better in feeling the ball come into your strings and have it sent back toward your opponent. I hit a heavier ball with the VCORE 98. More spin, faster ball. DR98 slices and plays those feel type of balls better, e.g. drop shots/flicker angles. I'm not playing every single day so it was an easy switch to make.

I add the leather grip (Tourna's is pretty thin) for comfort, but I might tinker with weight more once I have played with the 95 for awhile. In regards to power, I'm having no issues hitting the ball deep with pace and spin. In fact, the guy I hit with yesterday immediately said I hit "a heavy ball with topspin." He had no idea I was using a new racket. My setup is low-tension and thin poly, so that might be helping; I also have long, fast swings. I imagine all that plays a factor and obviously varies with user. When people say low-powered, I imagine an 18x20 frame with 95 or smaller headsize. 16x20 is still fairly open, so I would definitely demo it if your thinking about it.

I'm interested in this string... let us know your thoughts when you've had a hit.
Played an hour last night with Signum Yellow jacket 1.30mm in my Vcore 98. Felt really good. Grabs the ball similar to Tour Bite but plays much softer with slightly more power. Still very controllable. Kick serves were really jumping and the string still felt plush on groundstrokes. I guess the big question will be how long it plays for feeling this way. Time will tell. Playing again tomorrow.

Have you added any lead tape at all? Or have you found just the leather grip and overgrip to add enough mass?

I'm in the very early stages of testing this racket (4 hours), so I have not added any lead tape yet. So far, I haven't faced any big hitters, so I haven't felt the need to add lead tape for stability/mass.

Adding weight with the leather grip and overgrip would make it more HL than stock. Increasing the SW very slightly with the added weight above your hand. I’m going to take an educated guess and say the racquet weighs somewhere near 12oz. now.

I’m waiting on the TW demos to become available.

I realize most folks on here are very particular, but I personally could not feel a difference between day 1 (stock grip) and day 2 (leather grip) of my testing. The weight difference is very minimal.

Yeah haha it’s my analytical brain speaking. As long as it plays well for you, it’s all that matters!

I have been hitting with a demo VCORE 98 for the last week and must say I really like it; great spin, stable at net, 2nd serve feels like it flies off the court. I find myself going back-and-forth between this and the Babolat P07 (16x19). The babolat has a bit more "free power" feels even more stable and is easier to flatten-out shots. Downsides of the babolat are a stiffer feeling. This feels like a coin toss....I might just go with the Yonex b/c of the quality. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Anyone please gives a comparison between the Vcore 98 vs the Pure Aero? I do understand that they both stand out for spin potential.

Thanks
The VCORE is going to give you more control, less power, less spin, more whip (due to the headlight balance). I might go so far as to say the VCORE 98 is an all-court, less-powerful, 98 head version of the Pure Aero...IMO. If you are a baseline banger...I think the PA would a better weapon for you, otherwise, I prefer the VCORE.

Yup, that 95 square inch, 62 RA, 16x20 Aero, such a scalpel.

Actually on TE's review vid, they state it at a 59 RA.

But I was just being pedantic about the 95, the 98 might be something people graduate to from the Aero. The 100 would be the obvious comparison, same with Ezone.

I'm just getting back into playing for the last year, started with DR100, then RF97, VcorePro330, now Tour G 97 310, used to play to play Aero GT eight years ago. But now have ordered the Vcore 95. I'm hoping it will be a bit quicker, just love low RA sticks now that I'm getting older.

I switched from the DR 98 to the VCORE 98,

Pros are (in Stock weight):

the VCORE is more sin friendly, more powerful, more comfortable outside the sweet spot.
Cons:
Less stable against heavy shots.

After adding some lead tape at 3 &9 and some weight in the handle, i did this to both of them, the VCORE is the clear winner once you get it more stable than its stock weight, it is better in every aspect, that's just IMO, it hits a significantly heavier ball.

The control aspect is improving each time i play with it, it is string sensitive

@SamerHanna Thanks for your feedback and comparison!

How much lead did you have to add to get it to play more stable? Did you add any at 12 or just 3 and 9?

It seems there is a consensus that this stick is string sensitive. What strings have you tried and liked in it?

@EasternRocks. Played with the PTF 1.20 string last night and had a similar sensation to what you've been describing. I was really struggling to get the ball to drop inside the lines. The racket was strung (by me) exactly the same as Cyclone 18L. Pretty interesting. Someone on here was using Cyclone 18L mains with PTF 1.20 crosses. I might even give that a try, could be very nice actually.

Yeah not surprised. This racquet needs a string that plays consistent and isn’t going to change much within the hour.

To me, the racquet isn’t unstable at all especially considering weight, it just needs more weight because it is a more HL racquet than other tweeners. Yes side lead is a good way to reduce the increase in swingweight, but I’m finding that this frame needs at least 3 grams at anywhere you like in order for it to play better players.

I’m in the process in finding my sweet spot with lead placement. I currently have 2 grams at 10/1 and another gram at 3/9. Adding some more on a second frame to see how I like that.

No problem at all...Just trying to help :)

I added 2 grams of lead at each side (3 & 9)...No lead at 12 as i think it will add so much power to an already powerful stick.

i added 4 grams of Tungsten Putty in the handle making the balance 32.6 cm, Total weight strung was 341.1 grams.

I tried both Ytex Quadro Twist and Yonex PTP 16L (The Black one)....i liked the Yonex more as it gave me better control and also better on Flat Shots...i broke the Quadro twist in 2 and a half hours, it is a good string if you want to add power, spin and comfort as it is on the softer size of the Polys spectrum.

I'll be trying the PTP (Yellow one) and the RPM Blast although i hate it because of the stiffness but i have a few packs, and will be reporting back.

You mentioned that the VCore is more comfortable outside the sweet spot compared to the DR which is a little surprising considering the higher RA. How would you describe the overall comfort compared to the DR especially when hitting the sweet spot? The feel of the DR is one of the aspects I enjoy most. Curious to hear your thoughts.

Current racket:
Yonex Ezone DR98 310g
Solinco Hyper G 1.25 / 23kg, with Wilson overgrip and Yonex dampener, total weight 340g.

Just got the new:
Yonex Vcore 95 310g
Solinco Hyper G 1.25 / 23kg, with Wilson overgrip and Yonex dampener, total weight 338g.

My thoughts are, that these are almost similar playing rackets as the specs suggest. I first was skeptical about buying a 95 head size racket and was between ordering Vcore 95 and 98. I prefer head light balance and low RA, so decided to go with 95 and head size was only slightly smaller than 98. Played 1.5 hours last night.

Control: Vcore 95 has slightly more control and maneuverability than DR98
Spin: Same spin level, maybe a bit more with Vcore 95
Power: Same power level on groundstrokes and volleys.
Serving: Vcore 95 felt really great on serves and offered slightly more power, control, spin, than DR98
Feel: I enjoy DR98 muted and arm friendly feeling and my opinion is, that Vcore 95 is almost as comfortable as DR98. Biggest difference is, that Vcore is more traditional players frame, with a thinner beam, so it gives more response when hitting the ball. RA level is at the same low level as DR98

Overall: Vcore 95 is a great racket, which offers more control, than DR98 with almost the same playing characteristics. The biggest positive difference was on slices and touch shots, I felt more connected to the ball. DR98 is my choice of racket, but Vcore 95 comes very close. I am going to play more in coming days against different players, but nice to have two rackets in my bag.

I know what you're talking about regarding the DR 98, but i got loads of feedback when i sometimes hit the ball near the upper hoop, it was uncomfortable, my elbow and my shoulder felt it although it is flexier than the VCORE 98, but with the VCORE that wasn't an issue. Also there is more spacing between the strings in the VCORE 98 which contributes to more comfort and forgiveness, till now i didn't feel any kind of discomfort.
