My issue with any poster has never been with having contradicting view points. As an adult, it is only natural that we all cannot see everything in the same light. My objection is often when the messenger is shot rather than the message. A few weeks back I had inadvertently created a thread called "TTW Library". A few posters kindly pointed out that there had already been another thread along similar lines. I called on the mods to merge the threads and/or delete the thread I had started. A point was made by posters without getting personal and all was well. Along similar circumstances, I had done the same here in my excitement of my preference for a player I happen to like. I had already mentioned that I leave it to the admins to take a call on being told that there was another thread already. I do not know what other response I could have given. Instead I read a post that's a personal attack - "indecent" (??)- for starting a thread because someone has started one before. If the poster in question has failed to see the damage done here, I can only sympathise with the idea that the posters English is perhaps not too strong or that the post was made with a complete intention of getting personal. Either way, the poster attributes to a similar treatment meted out to her in the past. I do not know those circumstances and if true, I am very sorry. However, that does not give any license to her to show a similar attitude to me.

I have always been against the idea of having someone on ignore. It feels wrong to slam a door on someone when a conversation can easily resolve many things in a civilised manner and I only hope that during my brief time here I have never resorted to anything that can be called abrasive. It is therefore unfortunate that time and again I have been made feel unwelcome on this forum. It has been six months since I have been here. I can say that I have enjoyed conversations with quite a few people. Alas, I cannot claim to have had similar levels of enjoyment with all posters. I shall refrain from posting henceforth. It seems that my innocuous posts are triggers for conversations completely unrelated to tennis which has never been my raison d'etre for joining in the first place.

Don’t quit on all of the good eggs bcoz of a bad egg episode; try the “ignore” key...works for me when a line gets crossed.

I have not followed your other conversations, but if you like tennis, you can discuss tennis with the people you want to involve, and on topics you are interested in.

Other than that you should do what you consider best for you, so good luck with whatever you decide.

Maybe not use this thread for quarreling?
It was about Tsitsipas after all and not us.

@Azure Why cant you rather bring this up in odds in ends?

Why not dedicate this thread to Tsitsipas and stop the fighting? Its not about you and me.... but a tennis player.

Tell that to @Red Rick and @stringertom and others that have roasted me for creating news threads that already existed for players.

Its just how it is in here. And I respect that. Someone else already put in the work.
So you can politely say there's already another thread and suggest they be merged. You don't "roast" someone.

It's not like it's a huge amount of work for creating a thread. People are here for fun.

Now this thread will soon be deleted as well if this quarreling continues. If that was enough to make a poster leave, that I told it was already other threads for Tsitsipas, Im not sure what to say.
I have been called a bully for that. Do you think thats ok?

She can of course create new Tsitsipas threads! I have been making new threads about players as well, but when I tried making major things about players where it already existed I indeed got roasted, not like her at all. I didnt threaten to leave. I didnt think it was possible getting so upset about two threads merging.
Have that thread @Azure. Make it. If it means so much for you. What is happening with you? Im very sorry. I had no idea this was possible and you could react so strong.
I dont want to quarrel w you. I am too old for that.

You know that isn't what she got upset about.

love mousaka! That I can make! Delicious!!
Are you Greek?
No, I'm not Greek. Sorry. However, I visited Greece twice some 35 years ago or so. LOL. I visited Volos and Kavala, two small sea ports. In one of them, we even played soccer with crews from other different merchant ships that were moored over there. Care to share your recipe for mousaka? My wife would be very happy to try.

Stefanos says thank you to Melbourne.

The funniest part of that video is when he say Thank You in all the different languages at the end.

I'm not sure if I missed it or not ... but I did not hear him say "Efharisto" which is "Thank You" in Greek. LOL!

And if you look hard enough on youtube, you will find a video of Stephanos and Petros getting lost at Melbourne Airport looking for their Departure Lounge. Fortunately for them, the "fan" taking the video sets them straight and points them in the right direction (which was the opposite one to the one in which they were heading.)

That was a really good match. Struff was hitting the ball really really hard and Tsitsipas had all the answers.

The match was decided over a very few points and Stephanos just managed to get the upper hand in those.

It amazes me how much he looks like Borg at times on the court, especially the way he moves from side to side on the Baseline and the way he moves quickly into the court to attack the short ball or get to a drop shot.

Good Win.

When he won Stockholm, the Swedes said the same. How much he reminded them of Borg. Are you a Swede btw? Even his body is similar a young Borg, his shoulders looking from the back.
His feet moves like Borg.

Monfils defeated him in straight sets. Credit to Monfils, he played really well and deserved the win.

Tsitsipas is seeded #3 at the Rotterdam Open next week.

Tsitsipas back to winning ways in Marseille

Marseille - Rising Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas bounced back from successive defeats with a comfortable win over Poland's Hubert Hurkacz to reach the quarter-finals in Marseille on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old, who stunned Roger Federer en route to the Australian Open semi-finals last month, had lost his last two matches to Gael Monfils and Damir Dzumhur.
But Tsitsipas, the top seed this week in France, was back in form as he brushed aside world number 78 Hurkacz 6-4, 6-2 in only an hour.
"It is nice to start so well. It was a 'no-trouble match'," Tsitsipas told atpworldtour.com. "Everything went smooth. Breaks happened when they had to happen. It was a solid match."

He will next face a lucky loser - either Ukrainian world number 141 Sergiy Stakhovsky or the 130th-ranked Gregoire Barrere - in the last eight.

Some highlights:

Yeah. Not so convinced about his current form. Hurkacz probably lost that match more than Tsitsipas won it. There were quite a few points where Tsitsipas was struggling with Hurkacz weight of ball. And Tsitispas's BH is still very inconsistent especially during longer rallies.

Anyway, a win is a win. Let's see how he proceeds through this tournament.

Yes his backhand does not seem to have the sting. He needs more arm strength. I hope he wins this. Will give him some confidence.

Seems to me that Stefanos is playing a poopload of tournaments. At some point he needs to chill and get a training block in and eat spinach.

Our man continues to match with a straight sets win over Stakhovsky.

He next plays Goffin which should be a good evaluation of his level. I hope he rests after this tournament to work on his strengths and weaknesses. He has a very packed schedule.

Man's through to the finals in straights over Goffin! Great stuff. Couldn't get a link to watch it but straights is good. Will await the highlights! 7-6 6-2

Highlights are out. Good attacking tennis by Stefanos. Serve is good, FH is good, BH and ROS need work. Solid movement though.

So, Tsits was broken at 5-5, Goffin served for the set, Tsits broke back and then won the TB 7-1. I guess this is where the match was over for Goffin.

@beltsman I think Goffin has trouble with big hitters. And Stefanos hits deceptively big.

Tsitsipas seems to be doing OK but is following Thiem's route, and that is potentially dangerous.

I think realistically he is doing much better than just OK. He is building easy wins against top players regularly. Goffin and Stakhofly are not ATGs but are solid experienced players. Don't underestimate someone's ability to do that, especially so soon after his recent success.

What is Thiem's route?

Severely overplaying and as a result not being able to make a clear plan when he needs to peak, picking up tiredness and sometimes injuries.

Yes overplaying is a problem. I agree here. He must focus on getting his shots better than play a truckload of matches.

Effortlessly backing up the promise he has shown in recent months with that balanced and quite complete base he's working from.

Too EZ TBH.
This kid is impressive he can beat Djokovic

The SF and F performances in Marseille were eye-opening. Very natural tennis sense - the anti Dimitrov.
