They are all unprecedented achievements.Nadal's dominance at the FO is unprecedented on any major or surface-wise.
Impressive, I had set the under/over for a butthurt Federer fan at ten posts.Bit arbitrary with the options.
LOL, you created the poll specifically to get a negative response from a Fred fan so you could insult them.Impressive, I had set the under/over for a butthurt Federer fan at ten posts.
Winning RG and W, not that impressive in my opinion.Channel slams? What is that?
Channel slams? What is that?
Nope, I just thought those three particular achievements were interesting to compare.LOL, you created the poll specifically to get a negative response from a Fred fan so you could insult them.
It was pretty impressive on '70s grass and clay.Winning RG and W, not that impressive in my opinion.
Next time, don't take the bait.8 W ~ 12 RG
NID that someone would have a whinge about a thread with this name and no mention of Federer, though.
not closeJust curious what people think.
TBH I was kind of expecting something similar. Good barometer of the board.not close
What would you pick? and why?TBH I was kind of expecting something similar. Good barometer of the board.
I am honestly not sure, which is why I posed the question. They are very different achievements, and very specific to the abilities of the respective players who managed them. What would you pick? and why?
people have gotten very close to the other achievements on a number of occasions. 12 rgs nobody will get close to. Also Novak has held all four so pretty much the same, Fed has been like a match away a few times. Nadal has like double the next best, I dont like him but that’s way out thereI am honestly not sure, which is why I posed the question. They are very different achievements, and very specific to the abilities of the respective players who managed them.
Perhaps the Grand Slam, I suppose - if only because it has always been the Holy Grail of tennis.
Nope. Also Novak has held all four so pretty much the same
Why not?Nope.
Because in one scenario you don't get the benefit of the off-season break. Why not?
It was great from both, just as Nadal and Djokovic competing in all four Slam finals in a row.The Serena Slam over Peak Venus.
Literally these two changed women's tennis.
It took years for the tour to catch up, and no one else would have stopped that Venus
Yes you do. Leading up to it everyone gets an off season, and since he started at wimbledon he did not have the fresh start, he got his break in the middle. So not a fresh start could be seen as tougher.Because in one scenario you don't get the benefit of the off-season break.
While on drugs.Agassi wi ning Wimbledon as a baseliner on freaky fast grass.
While on drugs.
He never played Edberg in Wimbledon and didn't beat KrajicekNone of them.

Yep.is a two month rest a huge difference?
Wow that is good stuff. I have been watching tennis hardcore since 05 and can't remember h2h stats from more than 5 years ago.He never played Edberg on Wimbledon and didn't beat Krajicek

Q: Will Laver's CYGS ever be equalled?
A: Federer and Djokovic in recent times have come awfully close to achieving it, so I'm pretty sure it is going to happen someday.
Q: Will Borg's 3 consecutive channel slams ever be equalled or surpassed?
A: Nadal has done it on 2 occasions, so it can be done, though it will be extremely difficult more so than the CYGS.
Q: Will Nadal's 12 x French Opens ever be equalled or surpassed?
A: Not in a thousand years!
Nobody has really got close to the Grand Slam since Laver. Twice someone has got halfway (Wilander in '88 and Djokovic in '14), then bombed out at Wimbledon.people have gotten very close to the other achievements on a number of occasions.
Regarding Borg, Nadal did not do it consecutively so he was not that close. On top the fact that it took a one in a million clay courter like Nadal says something. I would also give Borg extra credit, as he did it in polarized conditions playing serve and volley at Wimbledon.Q: Will Laver's CYGS ever be equalled?

I will say this, Rafa only won RG 5 times in a row. Fed did that at two different slams.Regarding Borg, Nadal did not do it consecutively so he was not that close. Sorry I do not really understand what this has to do with my post.I will say this, Rafa only won RG 5 times in a row. Fed did that at two different slams.
You brought up consecutively, so that thought came up, didn't mean to quote you though.Sorry I do not really understand what this has to do with my post.
