"Despite the disappointment, Federer understands that people will remember this match forever. “I will try to forget [it],” Federer said on court after the match. But people will watch replays of this classic for years to come."

Brutal. This loss is gonna still hurt years from now.

It won’t. Doesn’t feel like it now, but it won’t. The Yankees had a lead going into the bottom of the 9th inning of the 2001 World Series. Would have been their 4th in a row. They allowed 2 to score. Crushing defeat. After a year. All anyone remembered is the ones they won. The pitcher who let in the runs was recently the first player ever to be inducted unanimously into the hall of fame.

Is there is anyone who can recap what Djokovic said here?

I translated some of the important things he said in this video to Another poster yesterday, but this is what he said in short:

He thought his game was pretty bad and that he wasn't close to his top level, he thought he had 20-30% more to give quality wise than he produced. He also said he played without a serve for majority of the match. He thought Federer was stronger from the baseline and he had it easier returning his serve. Then proceeded to say in the most important moments, he raised his level. He also said he was relieved they came to that 12-12 TB.

Mentally, according to him, it was the toughest match he ever had. Mostly cause of the crowd being against him/rooting for Federer (wich he already knew beforehand) but also cause of how he struggled with his game and having to win on sheer mental strength. Interviewer also asks him how he managed to stay so calm throughout the match, and Djokovic said that is what he was the most satisfied with. He promised himself before the match that he was not gonna let the crowd get to him and he is very happy that he held that promise to himself.

He say that he play without a serve almoust all match. He was happy to play tie break in 5th set because Federer have beter serve returns in finnish set. He also sad that he was proud because he maintain to stay calm almoust all match(he promise himself that, before match started) . On the end he thanks to the fans.
