Federer fans comprise ~2/3 of TTW membership. For years, like function, in combination with discriminating moderation, have been used to bully non-Federer fans. However, more recently, success of Djokovic and Nadal led to increased presence/activity of their fans and decreased presence/activity of Federer fans. It is fair to say that, to same extend, the tables are now turned. From this prospective, timing of decision to remove like function is interesting. I consider like function useful to study mob psychology, majority behavior, psychology of discrimination etc.

Do you expect any serious response/discussion with a poster after calling his/her post nonsense? First you have to learn to use appropriate language and discuss with respect. If you were interested what are evidence to support expressed notion, which I doubt, you should have asked politely.

I don't understand how the Like button bullies anyone.

If a pro-Fed/anti-Djokodal post gets a lot of likes you feel bullied?

I've asked the same question. Are too many likes on a post offensive if you don't agree with said post? Seems a bit thin-skinned. I think people need to remember that most posts on here are just light hearted banter. I have a jab or two at Fed but it is all in good fun - the guy is a legend afterall it is just fun to debate and joke around, Rafa cops plenty of it too, it's all good.

Some years ago, there was a Djokovic fan around "Chico". Djokovic then did not have many fans on TTW and he was a rare one. He would say things like "Djokovic will win 8 slams" and, after such statement, he would be ridiculed and insulted (you are moron, idiot, whatever). Such insulting posts against him would get many likes. More likes led to more insults and more insults led to more likes and things grew. For him, it has become impossible to say/discuss anything without being ridiculed/insulted. Him being insulted was tolerated by mods, while his insulting responses were punished (he was banned in the end). It is ironic that most of his prophecies ridiculed/insulted at the time turned out to be right.

Chico mostly posted before the like button came, as I remember it. I really wouldn't blame the like button for anything Chico-related.

He/she was as far from a saint as possible, I'd say. Loved to sh1tpoast.

This is exactly what I call misinformation. The guy/girl was obnoxious to the core and his/her trolling was so bad it deserved nothing else, nothing to with being a Djokovic fan. Stop being a whiny little girl. I've taken so much S from Nadal fans back in the days when Nadal was all over Federer in the h2h (2013-2014ish) and it never moved me. There was a period where the Federer-Nadal h2h was brought up a dozen times DAILY.

This is a sports forum, you'd have to be 3 years old to be affected by what others have to so you to you or about you.

As for my predictions - got some wrong got some right, you just focused on the ones I got wrong. I never cared about likes but just to rub it in your face I was in the top 10 most liked posters here until that feature was taken down. You can switch your argument now to how you don't really care or how likes are for 3-year old girls.

I have just seen your likes ratio and it is low for a Federer fan. Even posters like Ann or Beatlesfan have better likes ratio than you.

By the way, the likes suppression decision is all about destroying like to post ratios of all posters. That is the real story.
