Hello and welcome to our final event in the 2019 ATP Sudden Death League season!

Nitto ATP World Tour Finals

O2 Arena, London, UK
10 - 17 November, 2019

Indoor Hardcourt

This event is open to everyone.

There will be a WTF Bonus Competition exclusively for the Top 8 in the Race/Rankings running side by side with this - the thread for that will be up later this week.

RULES (World Tour Finals):

1. Every day of the tournament that day's matches will be posted. You pick one player who you think is going to win. It's a knock out-system: if the player you picked wins, you're through to the next round. If he loses, you're out.

2. You have to pick one player per Round Robin day. In the semis and finals you pick one player per round.

3. During the round robin portion of the event, you can only pick a player ONCE. However, upon reaching the Semi-Finals, your picks will be re-set, so you can then pick a player you previously picked in the Round Robin.

4. You can't pick a player from a match that has started already.

5. You cannot advance to the next round via a walkover since it is hard to know exactly when someone announced they were pulling out HOWEVER this rule does not apply once you reach the semifinals

6. Since you can no longer win a match by a walkover it is highly advised that you make a back-up pick to your main pick - when listing your picks make sure you specify which is your back-up.

7. If the player you picked retires during the match, you're out. If he retires before the match, your back-up pick will be used.

8. If the opponent of the person you picked withdraws and is replaced by a lucky loser your original pick will stand unless you specifically change it. [Usual caveat applies - if you let me know clearly in advance, that's a different issue]

9. NEVER edit your pick. If you want to change your pick, please quote your old pick and choose a new player. Edited posts will not be taken into consideration.

SCORES FOR THIS TOURNAMENT
1 correct pick: 100
2 correct picks: 200
3 correct picks: 400
4 correct picks: 600
5 correct picks: 800
6 correct picks: 1000
7 correct picks: 1200
Winner: 1500

Just a thought, and l appreciate how much work goes in to organising this game, but maybe spread the net in terms of helpers.
Maybe @Boozyuzi has some additional time? He runs the WTA SDL to a very high standard and could be an extra pair of hands if he's willing.
This is in no way a criticism, especially from me - l tried running the WTA SDL a few years back and..... l was absolutely dire!

Actually on this line of thought, my message to the other admins:
- If there's less than 24 hours to go before the start of the 1st match and I haven't posted any thread please feel free to get things ready.

I posted this yesterday in the other thread, and am re-posting here so everything is in the same place:
Regular:
1: Djokovic
BU: Federer

Bonus:
1: Nadal
BU: Medvedev

Listing a BU in this competition seems unnecessary. As there is only one other match per day. there is only one possibility for BU, so it should just be automatic. It's the same as not having to formally pick a player for the final because only one player is available.
But there is no implied winner, right? If Djokovic gave a walkover, if I had no backup it would be difficult to assume I wanted Federer or Thiem, but with a backup it's written down.

Completely correct. Pure early morning stupidity on my part. The difference between the top players and bottom players is so extreme, there is kind of an implied winner in first rounds.

This was clutch.

Generally brave to go against the crowd, and he was rewarded on this occasion.

Has anyone managed to win all the different types of titles at least once by the way - anyone know?

By this I mean at least 1 of each of the following: Slam, Masters 1000, ATP 500, ATP 250, Olympic Gold, Davis Cup, WTF
