Yeah, well, we can't say she's that present in the media, and it's a really cool to hear from her.

To go even further, I'd say that from the late 80's till the early 2000s is probably the only time in tennis history when women's tennis was a lot more interesting than men's.

Late 80s is a stretch, I think! Late 90s to mid 2000s, absolutely it was.

I would say that women’s tennis has been a lot more interesting than men’s tennis for most of the last 15 years.

On the other hand late ‘80s to early ‘90s was one of the most competitive periods in men’s tennis history.

Though I do agree about that great period of late 80s to about the mid 90s of mens tennis. That was the best time to be a tennis fan of the ATP tour IMO.

While I agree some of the slamless #1 years (Safina/Jankovic/Wozniacki from 2008-2011) and Serena turning up just to win slams (2015 & 2016) were boring, I must say the game has picked up in recent years since 2018. While the ATP is still stuck with the same 3 slam champions, the WTA has come bursting through with young talent like Osaka, Barty, Andreescu and now Kenin.

Great player but sorry I can’t watch tennis if there is excessive screaming/grunting, just too irritating but I’m sure some of you love it.

Well, the late 80s is the when I started watching tennis, and my first memories are the Graf/Navratilova duels at Wimbledon.

The 80s is the golden era of men's tennis IMO.

I love 80s tennis also, but early to mid 90s was just crazy good. Sampras, Agassi, Courier, Chang, Ivanesevic, Becker, Edberg, Muster, Bruguera just to name a few.

Seles was a great player and competitor. She was doing to Graf what Rafa has done to Fed. If that f&^^ psycho had not attacked her in 93 then the history of tennis would have been VERY VERY different. I did not like the shrieking but she unlike 99% of the wailers had the game to back it up.

I do wish Seles had never been stabbed but mainly since we wouldn't have to hear her annoying looney fan base try and force their crazy ideas she was a guaranteed 40-50 slam winner on the rest of us anymore, and call anyone who disagrees a Graf fanatic or some dumb BS like that. They are literally as bad as the Serena addicts who call everyone who does not call her the undisputed GOAT or speaks critically of her in anyway as racists.

Then whatever happened would happen, her fans would have to accept the idea she would not have dominated tennis until 2003 and won 10 Wimbledons, the crazy and annoying Graf-Seles fan wars would not exist, and on life goes. And no more Selestials as they are commonly known as invading any tennis video, even ones that have nothing to do with Seles spilling their annoying schtick anymore.

I don't think she was. Graf was finding ways to beat her and Graf was leading their H2H even before the stabbing. In the end it was 10-5. Seles was great, but too many fanboys are delusional, thinking she would win everything had she not been stabbed. She would definitely have won more had she not been stabbed, but saying she was doing to Graf what Rafa did to Fed is just not true. On top of that, Rafa's stats against Fed are lopsided because of clay (outside clay, Federer leads the H2H).

I do think Seles gets annoyingly inflated, especialy by some of her ubers due to the stabbing. It is not that I disagree she got horribly unlucky, and was robbed of a better career, which I do. However some of her fans have taken it upon themselves to create an unrealistic fantasy world of what she almost certainly would have achieved and force it down everyone elses throats.

That is why the stabbing was terrible in so many respects. It created so many negatives, and absolutely no positives, perhaps the worst the never ending Graf-Seles fan wars everywhere you go which you seemingly can't escape, as repetitive and annoying as they are.
