If I get this new Rafa shoe (that's a big if) I'll make sure I get a punch hole tool first and adjust its laces for better:

Well, it depends. Like for example, the Clay Season Pre-RG outfits were out when they were scheduled to, despite no tourneys held. Some of the RG outfits are already on Nike, as for the rest; it will follow. Even though most tennis events aren’t held, Nike has to do as scheduled since everything is set in stone at least 1-1.5 years in advance unless they decide to cut it or push back.
Also , it’s not like anyone knows if RG really will happen. If Nike waits till then, and it doesn’t happen, they have excess inventory at a time when they’re starting to drop the holiday line. Supply chains and release calendars are really complex...

I saw the Nike Turbo GP with a hideous color on a preview site! Luckily there will be others colors who value it

Oh my word, the US Open collection... on one hand I can appreciate the ode to 30 years ago (and will get a couple of pieces) ... but the execution, some people may feel that Nike left a lot to be desired.

I remember seeing it as well and thinking what could have been, more than “that’s great!” But like you, I will probably get a couple of pieces.

Can anyone comment on how the two Nike Nadal shirts fit? Get the same size for the $100 retail one and the cheaper version? Or are they vastly different?

They both have a slim fit, so it will be a little closer to the skin. I’d get the same size for both.

They are both slim fit, so it’s up to you how you want it. Imo, the more high end one is more comfortable, slightly more ventilated, and you can ‘move’ around better.

Is similar to the last years shirts? I would like to know if I can keep buying the same size. Thanks a lot

Not sure but looks a bit close to the surgeon neck shape from RF clay 2019 polo and mostly everyone hated it. So will se if the nike logo will do the trick
I see what you mean. The one from Uniqlo has the flat collar like Nike’s, but it has buttons. This one from Nike has no buttons, but according to the description, it represents the old school soccer players jerseys. I remember some of Sampras and Agassi’s polos from then had the same style.

Regarding the aesthetics of the RF '19 FO polo the neck shape was actually one of the least offensive aspects. :sneaky:

I refer to the madrid and if I remember well, also used in the spring desert US tournaments. The collar was disgusting and the Dental green color matched with the baroque pack vapors was worse than the 2015 FO "cotton candy throw in the dirt" outfit. The collar of that shirt is close to the pics shared here and if even Federer looked bad in that style can see this style in Wimbledon

If you are talking about the two during the clay season last year, this one fits ‘tighter’. I honestly don’t know if it is the pattern or the overall seam, but I felt more closer to your body. If you can, I recommend trying it on at a local tennis shop if you have one where you live.

Yes I have the volt and hyper jade shirt in size medium and fits fine but now I don't know if tighter might be for me. Can't try clothes now due to covid and I don't think will bring the purple shirt

That’s the one I was talking about. Again, the similarities are only in the collar, but that’s about it. The one from Nike is what was for Wimbledon.

Oh sorry, you meant the lab tech/veterinary surgeon/dental hygienist; yep, hideous!

For those who haven't seen the sneak peak shots, these were on Niketalk (I am a very frequent poster and was the one who posted (and removed) the Fall Nike catalog pics showing the US Open gear once I got a rather frantic call from the LTS.

Edit: seems like I still can't post photos? Really? Why is there a post limit for that? I don't post in here very often.

Actually, it looks much more similar to the the collar Federer had from Wimbledon 2019 onwards, with the difference being that the overlapping parts of the Uniqlo polo were much more open than those of the Nike polo. The similarities are there: overlapping placket sides without buttoning points, and an extreme cutaway collar:

The Nike fanboys took fancy at laughing at the "aero" collar, of which element in the Nike product I see no mention now (so much so, that the focus of the discussion is elsewhere, and away from the most striking similarity). I don't think that the "lab coat" collar and the above examples look similar at all, and maintain that the similarity between the above two designs is much more pronounced. You are certainly correct in suggesting that the swoosh remedied their scepticism, along with bringing some clarity on how principled their stances really are.

Being honest in that pic you post I just see a regular polo collar with brown(?) Accents and thats pretty much it can't see anything related to the dental collar. I said exactly that, I like Nike but that collar would be funny to see if just for being nike can pull it off due to the similaries to the Uniqlo RF desing.

I lurk on NikeTalk a lot, the US open 2020 stuff is dope, I just hope it looks better in person than on a catalog!

It doesn't look anything like it, actually, and the picture I provided was of something to which it does look like. I just pointed out that similar collar design has been met with diametrically opposite reactions from the same group of people, just because of a different logo. You were thinking about testing the said opinion with the "dental" collar, without realising that it has been tested on the actual collar design that it has.

Guga and others have worn soccer/football jersey inspired collars successfully over the years; I generally prefer to leave the football tops for the football players. Wimbledon clothing has become such a yawn that Nike were probably trying to achieve something that would stand out stylistically whilst still complying with the AELTCC rules. At least Nike apparently had a clear design in mind, unlike the hotchpotch of collar styles Uniqlo has put forward thus far - nonetheless providing gleeful amusement for many of those on the forum. There's really no need - other than continued laughs - to flog a dead horse any further, other than the knowledge that Federer has pulled the pin on the 2020 season, thus apparently leaving us with no new styles to disparage.

Fed can do promotions pictures for his new outfits in rehab!
